Me neither, like the rest of the game, it follows that same principle : a carrot, on a stick.

Point missed, again.

Wow! I'm surprised to see you admit it.
Over 430 threads discussing labyrinth problems with over 1040 posters in support (thread # 1702621) Thank you all! GGG will implement a different method for ascension in PoE2. Retired!

i averaged 6-7 minutes per run in early legacy and average profit was somewhere between 20 and 30c per run depending on layout and goodies.
so say, 110c per hour is not an incentive to you? where do you do more in an interesting way?

and i dont mention points. Getting 40% more damage for free as last zerker acc is not worth 15 min of your time, but hours of shaped strand grind is?

You just missed the WHOLE point of my post. Congratulations.

I KNOW the lab is "rewarding" in terms of currency, points and whatever. My point, which you clearly didn't understand, was; No MATTER the carrot, no MATTER the "incentive", it will not make the actual CONTENT better. The lab is still unfun, boring, tedious and uninteresting even if Izaro gave you 5 Mirrors.
Sometimes, just sometimes, you should really consider adapting to the world, instead of demanding that the world adapts to you.

i never ever farm shaper, because i dont like it, and find uber much more thrilling, but i dont cry about it. And i can easily do it once for challenge.

So, it's a really good thing that you don't mind lab then, as otherwise you would be missing out on a key source of a character's power and progression.

Also, it would really be unfortunate if character progression was gated behind Shaper, given that you don't like running Shaper.

Right?
Now that prestige classes will finally leave lab in 4.0, will GGG get it right this time or will they find new ways to repeat old mistakes?

Sure, if we assume they are dumb enough to gate prestige classes behind an uber-endgame raid boss. That was done by nobody ever, at least as far as my memory serves, feel free to correct me.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

hellfire amulet farm is quite annoying in d3.

I cant compare t13 diablo with shaper tho, but it's still annoying as hell. But i do that for power sake.

Yeah, Shaper and his posse have some uber drops of their own, that's perfectly fine even if the item grants a skill. Something like Shaper dropping Whispering Ice would be ok in my book.

I'd have to check that Lineage thingy, never played it.

I think it's unfortunate that you equate "pain" and "gain" in gaming. But, if that's your approach to gaming then that's your call. It doesn't come across as particularly humble on your part, though, to imply that's the natural order of things or that somehow others should think the way you do.

I like games best when challenge and fun come together. If I find myself using the term "pain" when describing a game, then I change the way I play or I change the game I play.

elite progression(3rd specialization, sub-class(like you can relevel another class using you character and switch when you need some flexibility), noble status(allows to use elite teleports and participate in tournament, was absolute requirement to apply for competitive clans, as that teleports were nessesary for pvp) was gated behind top-tier content that was competed for by the top clans, so you were trampled just to make it safer, or farmed by dedicated farmers who had top clan support and defended it's spawn window fiercly.

It was days and weeks of waiting just for boss to spawn and no one cared it's 3am.

Guess what? no one cried for NCSOFT.
