SET FREE THE ASCENDANCY POINTS (or rework the lab) [New ascension methods/lab rework ideas]
Well, that's the first time that I see the discussion about bugs/flaw/balance (which is kind of nitpicking, but does have its meaning) here, although I've not checked all 600+ pages of course.
To speak for myself, there are definitely some people that do express their dislike of the lab to which I would say such things ... but there are others, twisting other's words, lacking pragmatism, etc .... And for those cases, I would not. SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading.

My little quip was simply to counter Goetz's misrepresentation. If that's the viewpoint he's coming from, we'll never be having a real discussion. That's how I see most of the anti-change posters here. They have misrepresentations in their mind of what people want from this thread.
It hasn't been an issue of my not wanting to die and ignore traps at all, that makes me feel so strongly to want changes made to the labyrinth. I blink-arrow past traps without problems, so much so, that the traps are more of a speed bump for me, than a danger, except during the Izaro battle where they feel more dangerous than the boss. Some are fighting a battle that isn't there, and claiming some of us are not getting their point. I'll just say that I'd like the traps to be MORE interactive and part of the experience, as I've posted in my suggested labyrinth changes posts (rather than alternatives posts). If they weren't SO dangerous, and more of a flavor aspect to the Labyrinth, where a mis-step during the chaos of battle with monsters got you hurt when you didn't expect it - but not nearly instakilled. In such chaotic monsters-using-traps battles, your stats should not be ignored to the extent that they are now - and this would feel more like ARPG content to me. IMO, nothing in the game should ignore player stats to this extent. This implementation of traps feels totally anti-ARPG in concept and unfair to many players. Traps themselves could easily find a home in ARPGs, if done well - I think I've made that stance clear. I may not be entirely representative of those who dislike the labyrinth, but I feel I am a reasonable person who has given this a lot of thought on how to make it better. (though I think my posts are usually ignored through the mess of mud slinging that goes on around them, since I usually post to try to get conversations back on track about alternatives or changes to the labyrinth, instead of being focused on attacks against players' respective skill or stupidity) EDIT: PS: I favor a Labyrinth Alternative to changing the Labyrinth itself, since it lets labyrinth lovers continue with their activities unchanged, while giving others an option that doesn't harm the others' experience in any real way. You just said
" Which is pretty contradictory. SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading.

" In context with the situation at hand... currently, traps and monsters are mostly separate encounters. Traps alone are fairly simple and with blink arrow, can be bypassed with ease. If battles were more monsters using traps in the terrain with their AI as in my previous suggestion posts, they'd be pulling players into traps, pushing them into traps, forcing trap activations (like hitting the ground and pushing the spikes up) etc... fully engaged in the chaotic combat where particle effects are flying and you can barely see the ground. So, no, not contradictory, different situations and status of trap power changes/non-changes. |

So traps are not dangerous without synergistic monsters, and if there were such monsters, then they would be too dangerous because they hit too hard ?
You are asking for something that definitely would be nice, however I don't think that GGG could implement that anytime soon, as it would require likely a real lot of work regarding AI, and with the predictive system ..... hell! The other problem with your idea, is that people could then just simply over-level it (with any build, basically) and ignore all monsters and just bypass all lab's mechanics. And I do think that GGG don't want that either. Which is why trap do actual significant damage., which is partly what makes the Izaro fight interesting. But more emphasis on monsters during gauntlets (and having those a little bit simplified I guess then), I would probably like that personally. SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading. Last edited by Fruz#6137 on Jul 11, 2017, 11:09:15 AM

" Wow, someone throws a low quality bait and everyone is biting. Where's a reporter when you need him. Stay tuned for scenes from tomorrow's episode of ACP's The Talking Dead...
Carry on my waypoint son, there'll be peace when maps are done.
Lay your portal gem to rest, don't you die no more. 'Cause it's a bitter sweet symphony this league. Try to make maps meet, you're a slave to the meta, then you leave. |

" My bad, I was talking about sentinels there. That one just applies bleed without a hit so armor wouldn't matter anyway. If it isn't percentage I have no bloody idea how is it managing to kill a 30k life guardian and isn't obliterating my 5k in half a second. Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

" Silly semantic arguments for the most part. When hiding one's head in the sand it does not foster a good concept of reality. How about Wikipedia? " https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Software_bug The Labyrinth release was a buggy mess. Over 430 threads discussing labyrinth problems with over 1040 posters in support (thread # 1702621) Thank you all! GGG will implement a different method for ascension in PoE2. Retired!
