This isn't a d2 forum here.
This used to be the next evolution of d2. Now it's the half evolution of d2 and half path of frogger. Thanks for pointing out that the game is less good now. I am glad we agree.

I don't think that anybody said anything about "not being allowed to just dislike something" at all.
However, all those players crying rivers and insulting devs and players alike, about something that they clearly lack knowledge of, spending that much time here, just because they "dislike" it ? About a video game ?
There are people that just say that they dislike it, give their reason, and then either discuss a bit and/or leave after having given their feedback.
There are people raging, throwing tantrums, in obnoxious ways, that is different, likely for different reasons.
And no, the circle jerking here has been there from the start, with or without people pointing out all the flaws and silliness that has been thrown by the whiners.
And what is your purpose here ?
Haven't you said what you came here to say ? Or are you going to say that actual discussions (still) happen in this thread ? Because that's not what has been happening, for a very long time.
And it's not what you're doing now either.
No one is crying a River (well except the Lab lovers protecting their precious income). Most of my posts come while I waiting for groups in WOW at the moment to be honest. I could surf but this forum is entertaining.

Insulting the devs? While some might have done that, again, I think they are very capable of handling it, speaking for themselves or - ignoring it.
The thing is, some people debate out of emotions. They actually feel that this content has destroyed their favorite game. They are sad. Mad, even. A game, a hobby that they have dedicated so many hours (and maybe money on) ruined by something. And when these emotional creatures are being met with "LIAR" and "VIDEO PROOF"? Of course they will go into a defensive mode - and we all know how that can turn out.
When you like something as much as some people like their favorite video game, they just don't quit and give up. They will "defend" their game. And in some eyes, ridding the lab from the face of the earth IS "defending" PoE.
But I am making my peace now. I've said what I came here to say. I just find it hard to stay away when I see the same BS arguments and "I am better than you in everything, you suck, that's why you don't like the lab"-arguments. They are a very CLEAR sign of people not understanding something. Human nature 101.
Sure, they are most likely ignoring it, I was just saying that it goes beyond just "disliking" something here for many, imho.
The "defensive mode" has been here from the start for most, as soon as somebody said that they disagreed with them, not necessarily vehemently imo.
And I find hard to not answer to some here, probably the same way you find it hard to stay away in some cases there.
I should have done long ago from here instead of keeping feeding some trolls.
Once in a while, there is a piece of discussion that can be somewhat interesting, before being derailed completely quite quickly.

Destroyed, ruined, powerful words, they carry a lot of emotion. As with all grand causes, some probably do feel that way, yes, and some just pretend that is the case to push their agenda.
I wonder, if the feeling is genuine, isn't trying to explain that it's not the end of the world and that it's still the same old PoE we know and love actually a good deed?
And that it's just a video game ?
First world problems indeed.

No.
This is PoE, and it has always been PoE, end of the story.
If you want to play d2, go play d2, period.
And you have been one of the posters with the most obnoxious messages here, don't think that you're fooling anybody lol.

I assume you are also all in on the next version of Mass Effect being a game where you just garden. Because that is what the Lab is to what was POE of old before they made it a platform game.
You know when the playstyle was a direct evolution of Diablo 2 and was great instead of mixed.

I could not care less about mass effect.
If anything, the lab made PoE slightly go back to a "hardcore" feeling.
Bakc when there was no "checkpoint" after dying ( so unnecessary ), where there were actual threats outside of some bosses ( we have volatile now but .... :/ ), where you needed to pay attention, etc ...
And I don't give a crap about D2.
This is PoE, not D2, deal with it.

PoE's original claim to fame and the reason I played it instead of Diablo 3 is that PoE made a far better game in the true spirit of Diablo 2 than even Diablo 3 was. It took Diablo 2 game play and significantly improved the fun, the challenge, the depth, the replay-ability, the story, the everything. Then GGG stuck the horrible boring labyrinth game play in the middle of it, YUCK! Diablo 3, Grim Dawn, and XCOM, to name the three games I've played since the release of labyrinth, are all more fun than PoE now. In between the time I first signed up for PoE and labyrinth, the only game that I fired up on my computer was PoE. If not for labyrinth, I'm sure that would still be true today.
Over 430 threads discussing labyrinth problems with over 1040 posters in support (thread # 1702621) Thank you all! GGG will implement a different method for ascension in PoE2. Retired!

Yea pretending this game isn't related to diablo 2 is like pretending D2 had no relation to original diablo.
Then again go back and read the initial reviews. Apparently ALL the initial reviewers of the beta were misguided too. I found this game when it mentioned in the blizzard forums, but no I guess no relationship to diablo at all.
But apparently they could add gardening as mandatory content and the GGG lovers would praise it.

It has similarities.
But it's a different game.
Deal with it.

Fine, behave however you want, keep throwing tantrums if you want, because the lab is here to stay :).
If you don't know to move on, that's your problem after all, even though it does spam this section and has an impact on people giving actual feedback.
