I get that feeling too, to be honest. And im really dissapointed on their ostrich policy, shows lack of respect and willingess to communicate with their fanbase, as well as weakness and cowardice with refusing to step up and shut this once and for all. Passively letting those affected to boil, really sad and dissapointing.
Anyway, the reason for this post is another very similar situation and how it was handled, and it directly relates to GGG ostrich policy, or lack of balls and marketing experience to put it in a different way.
Ill try to it as short as possible. So for those of you who dont know there is a card game called Hearthstone from Blizzard. Amongst other formats it also has the Arena format. In that you get to make a deck from the start, choosing/drafting one card out of the three options you have each round, this proccess last until you have 30cards in your deck. The cards have a rarity tier that dictates how often they will appear, with the common slot being the most easy to get each round. There are 9 classes currently with Priest being regarded almost universally as the worst class for the Arena format. So this expansion is aabout to come out and some days ago all the new cards were revealed. Have in mind that expansion cards get a bonus chance to appear in each round of drafting that stacks with the rarity tier of each card. So an expansion common class card has like 3-4 times more chances than other cards to appear as one of the three possible choices each round.
So one of those new cards named Purify, is for the Priest (worst arena class by stats) aka class card, its in the common rarity tier, and it comes with the expansion. The card is beyond bad even when compared to bad cards, causing a lot of famous streamers to harsly critizise Blizzard's choice of fucking Priests even more in arena than they are already are fucked. But it also caused thousands of players to express the same worries, that at least in Arena with the current system of card selection, they will FORCE the players to have a lot of times 1 less choice to draft from. The complaints reached a massive amount never seen before from blizzard for a card design.
What Blizzard did? No they didnt buried their head in the ground (like GGG did with the lab) but they came out and talked about the design process and their ideas on it (something that GGG refuses to this day to do, while it always has done for past content). They realised that its unfair and dumb design to FORCE players in arena to be hindered by less choices (on top of that being for the Priest class), and decided to ACT on it by completely removing the card as a selection option when drafting arena decks.
How that relates to lab issue though, some less able might ask. It relates to the policy and design the companies follow.
GGG on the one side, decided to completely ignore/not comment on anything lab related for months like the problem is not there, refusing to communicate honestly with their playerbase. Believing that their decision to FORCE content (thats rather alienating) to their playerbase and divide them into two camps is "ok for the game", and that the "vocal minority" are the only ones having an issue with it. Refusing in the meantime to take any action that would relieve some of all that heat with their ostrich mindset.
Blizzard on the other side, immediately communicated with their audience, understanding the issue and taking action, to correct the consequences their bad design (which they admit) had, aka removing the card from the draft selection in order for people not to be hindered by FORCED choices.
I really thought that this kind of difference in policies, decision making and action taking should have been examined and shared with other. In no way i believe Blizzard is a better company than GGG (i actually dislike blizzard for ruining so many games that i used to have fun with) but in that specific case they acted like adults, doing business as usual (fucking capitalism right?) but in the same time "caring" for their playerbase's complaints and giving answers/solutions.
While im getting hyped from the 2.4 content changes already, besides the alpha testing (if that happens this time) the chances that i continue playing PoE if things in the lab remain the same are abyssmal.
Anyway, sorry for interrupting the shitposts, continue as before. Regards.
Plus 213. Couldnt have said it better myself and I play hearthstone and yah purify was comically epic bad and Bliz seen the light. Hopefully its not too late for GGG to see the light on the lab.

( seems obvious but : if thousands of players are complaining, most likely many many more dislike it )
Yeah the difference here is streamers play the lab to show the GGG's good work, make a guide or two and then fuck off to do something else once they get their ascendancy points. Of course they don't mention how fucking crappy this is cause they are just bunch of noddies and GGG's YES men. And most people don't care about complaining on forums, they struggle through the lab and forget about it till the next difficulty/character. Go ahead and ask people in guild chat once the next expansion starts how many of them treat lab as a necessary evil and not a fun part of PoE. Then ask them if they posted anything about that on the forums.
Btw. Quality shitpost here isn't it Regulator?

Well those guilds/streamers need to post/say something about lab then. Just accepting something as bad in the game and doing nothing is apathetic or weak. Speak up for change. Speak up for whats right.

But thousands of players for EarthStone is "vocal minority".
If hundreds of players are complaining for Lab then "most likely many many more dislike it".

Do you think that the lab is a content that is supposed to be love by everyone and ran instead of maps all the time ??
No, it isn't, why would it not be fine that most people do it for the rewards ? That is what the majority of the population seem to be doing anyway, playing for the rewards.
And xp wise, it is easier to go with a fotm brainless build shooting in maps, so I would guess that is what people go back to doing once they are done getting their ascendancy points, because they do not deem the enchantment system worth it maybe.
And no, I don't think that streamers are GGG's YES man, but who would watch them if they kept QQing all day about that ? do you think that they would get more viewers from it ? Plus I'm pretty positive that they do not have troubles running the lab.
This is also why the hearthstone case is different, if you are were playing Arena and trying priest, you would face this all the time.
Here people that do not like it can just move on and go to maps and it's done.

I do not check reddit, but I have definitely not seen "hundreds" of posters complaining about the lab on the forums ( I'm not checking all the posts of course ).
SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading.

Yeah, from now on I'm going to treat you like a harmless troll, Fruz. "That is what the majority of the population seem to be doing anyway, playing for the rewards" - hah, you are the majority then right? Oh how I would like to see the majority of people playing lab for rewards. I think I counted less than 10 in our guild of 160 members, me included. The main and only reason majority of people run lab is the ascendancy at the end. And this is what this thread is about, people being forced to run this shit for character development. We don't like it at all this way so we are looking for some alternative. So the hell you are doing here, you talk about people missing your point but it is you who don't understand it at all.
You also berate all negative feedback to QQ no matter what it is as long as it has lab in it. And yes you just proving what I said about streamers, no "QQ" more viewers so lets say nothing about that. Bunch of backside-lickers.
Also hearing about lab content that is not supposed to be loved by everyone...yeah might be so but it is forced on everyone. In the name of fucking diversity, lots of people love it, lots of people hate it so all if fine. I would rather have content that lots of people love and lots of people just don't care about as it is not mandatory. Like Atziri. Like Rigwald. Why lab can't be based on the same principle if it worked pretty well before?
Whatever GGG decides (if they consider anything at all) I will still play the lab when I have to but I will continue to support Alternate way of Ascending as long as I can/care.

AT least blizzard offers a format where priest is good (Wild). In Path of Exile we do not have alternate formats where the Lab does not exist.

I watched AngryAA playing Lab bored out of his mind for 2 weeks. People do farm it so they can play a cool character. I am sure people like it, Frogger was very popular in the past.

Yes hundreds that have posted on Feedback and Suggestions. In the 220 + threads there's over 173 individual thread authors probably multiple times that number where posters have made just one or two posts without starting a new thread.
Over 430 threads discussing labyrinth problems with over 1040 posters in support (thread # 1702621) Thank you all! GGG will implement a different method for ascension in PoE2. Retired!
