Do you think playing labyrinths is any fun?

I personaly HATE the labyrinth. Mostly because of ONE thing.
If you die you have to start over from the beginning!

For some people that has it's charms, but not for me.
It's the same reason i do not enjoy hardcore.
I want to slowly but safely grind my way to the top.

To make matters worse, the labyrinth is only SEMI-optional.
You CAN skip it and enjoy the same old PoE you allways have.
Except, not! It's like restricting yourself to only using 4-links.

If the labyrinth ONLY gave the option to enchant items that would be great.
But with the power you will gain from the ascendancy class
you feel "forced" to play it, or miss out on new things added
to the game. As well as not being as effective as the people doing it.

As it is now, i am to frustrated to play the labyrinth anymore.
A game should be FUN, not frustrating and infuriating.

This is the FIRST time GGG has made any form of change or
added content that i do not approve of.

I will probably FORCE myselfe to play the labyrinth to get
my ascendancy points. My build is based on it after all.
But i will NOT enjoy it, not att all !
Education is what you get from reading the small print.
Experience is what you get from not reading it.
For me, I think its one of the better additions brought to the game. I'd love to see aspects of it added to more areas of the game, but I can understand them wanting to keep it optional.
Love it. I have a good build that is built around balanced survival, speed and damage. On average get 7-10 minute runs (once I know the general directions where to head on different submaps) which means I can take different pieces of equipment from other characters and brute force enchant them until I get something workable.

The labyrinth is really meant to be farm runned by characters who have speed and by players who have a good sense of direction. Unfortunately a lot of people lack the direction quality (I know because I have seen a lot of that in real life when it comes to things like reading maps or reading technical blueprints that demand good 3d imagination) and thus probably get lost really easily. Hence the complaints about backtracking/being confused etc and the almost absurd 60-80 minute runtimes.
lab is cancer.

Pay someone 15c to run you through the labyrinth on all difficulties if you really don't want to do it yourself.

I personally think it is great, just have to figure out the final fight better. I also like the fact that you can choose (at least a bit) how much Izaro will be buffed - more buffed more loot.
Remove Horticrafting station storage limit.
I dislike the lab a lot. Some may say I hate it. Lag on a trap and you are dead. Try to leap, dash and fail you are dead (my second death, tried to leap, nothing happened). Honestly I wouldnt mind it at all if it was side quest but those juicy ascendancy points are gated behind it...Also it seems like simple traps do far more damage than the boss himself, kinda "lame".
I see people getting excited because of the traps, hidden passages the D&D feeling thing. That is all good but it is not PoE anymore :(

Thing I like (I have to admit) is the Izaro (and his guardian, name escapes me. He looks awesome). The guy himself, the fight mechanic, the extra thrill he gives I really like and GGG done amazing job designing him. I would love to fight him somewhere behind the lab for the Ascendancy points.

One more thing. PoE boasts with player numbers on launch and now, I wonder though how many new players that are trying out the game say "fuck this shit" once they die in lab again and again and they have to repeat the whole thing.

I would love to play PoE more but running the lab on every character is killing the joy for me. Please GGG could you consider making the lab optional area and let players get Ascendancy points in some other way? Anyways, just my mad ramblings...

For a strong character it becomes super boring after a few runs but you still need to run it a lot because of bonuses at the end. So for me it is absolutely no fun and plain bad addition, even though I really like the idea and overall trap gameplay.

One of the ways to fix it that I see is to merge lab with maps. Like, when entering a lab you can use a map item. If you do all mobs in the lab receive all map's modifiers including IIR, IIQ, packsize and LEVEL but reduce exp gain to balance it out.

Worst addition to the game, ever (by a huge margin).

And I've been here since March, 2012 too.

I, personally, quite enjoy the labyrinth. However it has some MAJOR drawbacks.

1) It takes ~an hour to complete, if you're successful. Not everyone is able to devote that much time at once.
2) With 300 enchantments just for the helmet alone, drawn completely at random, the odds of you ever getting one for a skill you're using are slim to none. You could run this 24/7 until the next expansion comes out and still probably never get an enchantment for a skill you're using.
3) The labyrinth is clearly made for people with movement skills. None of my main characters had movement skills on them, but after attempting the labyrinth for my first time, I threw a movement skill of some sort on each character.
4) If you are slow moving, you will die. Heavily armored is no longer a benefit.
5) Izaro seems like he needs some tweaks. I'm not sure exactly where he's supposed to fall in difficulty, but I made a new character and was able to beat Malachai unscathed but still had trouble with Izaro's first form - let alone his second and third. I had to come back once I had gained 10+ levels over.

The feeling you get when you ARE successful is enormous. It is very gratifying to have completed it. I will be running this for months to come; to me it is miles more rewarding than running maps. It is extremely challenging and gives out some great prizes. I just think the randomness of the enchantments is a huge drawback in enticing people to keep running.

Get a bunch of Vertexes/Alphas/Rat Nests and then most enchants will be things you can sell and buy an enchanted helm for yourself.

It sucks if you're self-found, though.

Any fun at all? That's a firm "NO"

This patch destroyed this game.. other idiotic puzzle games have much faster load times and are more stable. This is neither ARPG nor hack'n slash game anymore... is maybe different if playing like there is no tomorrow, but for casual players, these puzzles now 90% of gamming hours :I
