No I don't own an Acuity. I don't care about the nerf.

That said, the gloves should have a legacy version.

The only thing changed about the gloves is the leech's effectiveness. That is a numerical value of 100% effectiveness lowered to 60% effectiveness.

No changes to the mechanics (from a player point of view).

Critical hits leeches; only at 60% effectiveness. Simple. Clear.

BUT because of the lowered number, they had to REWRITE a new line of code that forces the Devs to implement a second mechanic for the gloves. So for that reason, the changes must be retroactive.

The confusing part:

- Logically, a value decreased from 100% to 60% doesn't need to be retroactive based on simple understanding.

- On actual development, the involvement of a new mechanic (more coding, more pain in the ass) require changes to the existing item.

My question: Why can't the new line of code only affect the new Acuity drops? (Legacy)

My guess: Because it would require two set of codes to represent the same gloves, one that has the new mechanic and the other that doesn't. (correct me)

when will ppl understand that there never was an effectiveness value before the nerf, so they couldnt just nerf the nonexisting value.
Spoiler
THUS NO LEGACY FFS

"when will ppl understand that there never was an effectiveness value before the nerf"

Oh lord... try 2.

If pre 1.3 didn't had any effectiveness, Critical Hits would never leech.

What does Leech applies instantly on Critical Strike mean to you? It means that critical hits leech the damage you deal with no drawback. IN OTHER WORDS 100% effectiveness.

Get your head out of your ass and realize that you don't need a specific value to mean exactly that. Pre 1.3 Acuity didn't have WRITTEN NUMERICAL effective value but instead it had a WRITTEN WORDINGS to describe exactly the same thing.

The magic word was INSTANTLY.

On a side note, check the damn poe wikia that updated the gloves.

* 1.3.0 Leech effectiveness lowered from 100% to 60%

You know that in coding it does matter whether or not there was effectiveness actually in the code right?

You can't just say: "Oh it leeched instantly, that is the same as 100% effectiveness"
It might work like it was at 100% effectiveness, but that doesn't mean it was coded with 100% Effectiveness.
“Demons run when a good man goes to war"
Please don't quote someone if you don't even read what the quote says.

I even put a bold character to get your attention. just lol

Edit: Patch notes even say that they lowered the effectiveness from 100% to 60%. Why not just say 'Implemented a new effectiveness system at 60% effectiveness.'

There is a good video where a guy is explaining how it works if you don't understand.

because thats how it works out in the end, thats how we see it

Spoiler
but the coding says different. and you know this. ill not explain it again
WTF!

Which retard made that video LMFAO!

Leech applies ALWAYS on critical hits. NOT 60% of the time LOL.

If I used to leech 1000 life at a 100% effectiveness pre 1.2

I would now leech 600 life FORM THE SAME HIT with the new 60% effectiveness.

I THINK. now there are way too many confusion and even I could be wrong. I guess

Yep

Also this thread was 23 pages yesterday, must have been a carpet napalm RBS strike lol

This seems like a hot topic. Too hot for some people :)
I should probably just make a website to make others see my point of view...no wait..
