#juststandardthings
Holy canneloni, you guys have some issues. I think i could understand all this QQ about legacies if standard was at least the slightest oriented towards some sort of competition other than e-peen.

GGG, Stop using double standards.
You told us "If we change value on item, this item stay legacy. If we change mechanic of item, this changes apply to all items".

So what we see now?
"
"Atziri's Acuity: The modifier that makes leech apply instantly on critical strikes now has it apply instantly at 60% effectiveness. Existing versions of this item are affected by this change."
- This is VALUE changes from 100% leech efficiency to 60% - but you change the TEXT, so TEXT = mechanic?! The mod does the SAME (instaleech) but just LESS (by changing value or adding a reduction mod, whatever). Crown of Eyes had its mod changed indeed, because it applied MORE modifiers before and then it didnt. Acuity does not change what mod does, just effectiveness.
"
"Lightning Coil: Damage conversion has been reduced from 40% to 30%."
- This is VALUE change, i hope you do the LEGACY version right?
Not to mention DOUBLE LEGACY BS like raibowstrides and upcoming BoR...

- Oh, but you DO - ITEM QUANTITY GEM!
GGG, the legacy mechanic and double standards should go to oblivion. Make an announcement and retroactively update ALL items to present state (you can grant maximum rolls though to compensate). The legacy stuff distorts PoE gameplay and even ruins it at some points. I can afford losing my legacy shavronnes and soultakers and other shit if GGG decides to play fair.
There is literally NO reasons for legacy status to exist.
P.S. Iam OK with nerfing of MY Acuities, Shavs, Soultakers etc. - these nerfs are DESERVED. I just want same rules for everyone.
P.P.S. The very existence of legacy items is a double standard. When an item is nerfed GGG are kinda saying: "This item is out of balance and should not exist in that state (as it is on any new league) - it distorts balance and gameplay" - but they leave existing copies as is, bringing exactly that distortion of balance they wanted to erode into existence. Removing the imbalance by creating imbalance /facepalm
Oh boohoo, you dont have your op legacy item that you can hold the monopoly on price with.
Crymore?
The game doesnt need more 300 exalt items.

Ok ill have to admit, it was fun reading the thread.
And we still have people who say that whatever they are tought in school is bs and they are never going to need it.
Threads like this show how terribly educated some are. Not only math but also english. Im not a native speaker but damn, at least i understand what the devs and others are saying.
For the people who are still puzzled by how the things in poe work, you might want to look into some novice programming. No need to learn everything, just glance over things so you get a grasp on the basics.
But damn, these threads are so much entertainment while losing hope in humanity.

Maybe this helps OP understand it better:
This is just example.
Item database:
Mofifier number 1: "Leech applies instantly on critical strike"
Modifier number 2: Life(item stores value)
Now, lets say unique item drops and rolls mods:
Example gloves unique vaal gauntlets
Leech applies instantly on critical strike
Life 60-100 <--- Now this value is stored on the item and they cant change the value.
Lets say the item rolled value 70.
Now, if they change something, they cant change that 70. Instead, they can change whats on the database. They could change "Life" to "Mana" but that would mean every item that had life, has mana now instead. (bad example, since mana already exists in database, but lets pretend it doesnt).
So, they could change that "leech applies instantly on critical strike" to "Fish is caught on critical strike" and all items that had that old mod, would have the new one.
After they changed the database, new item would look like:
Example gloves unique vaal gauntlets
Fish is caught on critical strike
Mana 70
