" Uhhh, I really DONT want to have (for example) Nessa talking 'schwäbisch' or Grigor speaking with 'sächsisch' accent... ^^ o_O invited by timer @ 10.12.2011

Oh, ehm... no, me neither, that would be too much.
Grigor already has his own language ;) different education, different past, different neighbourhood, slightly grammatically incorrect... Umgangssprache. "Yo, Alda! Krasse Kacke das mit Hillock! Habbich auf meim Handy." *fg* (no please, but you get the idea) Ah, one important thing, I forgot to mention last night: " Schilder - (traffic)signs Schilde - shields Dynamit,
Architekturkritik, die man tatsächlich sieht! Farin Urlaub http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x2nz5q9 | |
" nu ma sachte aldär ;) overall translation quality of the samples is good and mostly correct although some phrases aren't dramatic enough. for the choice of formally addressing the character: choosing the formal addressing of "Sie" shows respect for the character in opposition to choosing "Du". different characters could use different styles of addressing, depending on their personality. i would strongly advise against translating orb/gear descriptions, locations and such as most germans will play the english versions anyway and having different terms will divide the playerbase. my girlfriend and i have very good knowledge of the german language, when abroad we did en <=>de translations for business and technical texts. i would suggest setting up a wiki for the translations and would really like to contribute although my free time at the moment doesn't allow any management position. age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!

" hello , Spanish second language most spoken in the world, after China. And yet you have no translations ? Certainly not listed here ? a greeting |

While I can't comment on the grammar, I would like to see the spelling of names changed to suit the language, as I find some of names might be a bit jarring in the german translation.
ie oriath as German has no TH sound so changing the spelling to better match the phonetics of it would help keep the immersion. Also for Yeena's intro perhaps using Geist instead of Seele, I could be wrong though. (Seele I believe refers to the soul while Geist refers to a more general spirit, ie team spirit etc as well as ghosts and such like) Awesome that you are doing this, I might have to start playing in german. A final question, will global still be english only? or will global 1 be english 2, german 3, french and so on? |

Wtf. Where is russian language?!

" others already tried and failed with this strategy: f.e. lotr english => german shelob - kankra (wie: 'krank', ill) baggins - beutlin (wie: 'einkaufsbeutel', shopping bag) helms deep - helms klamm (wie: 'klamm', run out of money) rivendell - bruchsal (city near stuttgart in germany, not overly romantic) aragorn - herr müller (ok, just a joke) but other names are taken as they are which leads to alot of misunderstandings one talks to english speaking people about the book/film and mixes up names. age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!

The french translation is amazing, well done.

" I'm not meaning like that more like Oriath-> Oriat or something like that, just so that they don't try and pronounce the TH, I mean it could be Oriaz as well. I agree that the names should be as close to the english ones as possible, ie Western Forest could be Westlicher Wald, or the Coast-> die Küste, but I agree that the way lotr did it was shocking |
