Translation Preview (FR, DE, PT)
didnt read the whole thread, but as others surely will have pointed out the german translation is kinda sloppy. loads of misused words, grammatical errors (punctuation, its important!) and generelly a not so fluid dialogue. even for fantasy, nobody would speak that way.
glad its coming tho, rather not glad for global chat.. |

" we still do, just that we have basic courtesy and dont start talking russian/portugese/spanish/polish in global. |

Players are allowed to talk in any language they like in global chat, so long as they continue to observe the rules for talking in chat. Don't feel that you have to talk in English in global chat, but do realise that not everyone will be able to understand you if you do.

What is a descry? I haven't found a traduction or explanation on google. It is translated to Occulus (French dictionary only has oculus which is a kind of small circular window/hole on the wall).
I've seen there is a wiki page about the Descry symbol used by immortal call for example, but does the word has a known meaning in english? And the gateway Eramir speaks about, what is it exactly? If it is the way from the forest to Sarn, maybe the word "passage" would be better than "portail". Last edited by Porcoflic#6806 on Nov 25, 2014, 10:19:23 AM

Cool to see it happen, although I am sceptical about translated multiplayer games. What happens if you team up or chat with others? Using different words for the same thing is confusing, you will be forced to chat in english anyways, adapt those expressions and the localised texts will seem strange. Names of towns and monsters will be horror! *g*
Ok, it might be very nice for people who don't understand enough to follow the story but are there many of them? I am more concerned that those "gamers" don't *want* to understand the story, don't even read it. So many questions in chat because people don't even read their mission. Every word is a lost kill. Every dialogue wasted time not spent on levelling... but this is getting off topic now... different people, different kinds of fun. And yes, I see why you didn't want it to be a fan-project. It just started and discussions already began how to translate and which words you can use or not. "Schwarze Kunst" for example was said as "no", but I say "yes" because it can be considered "art" in this context. Some comments to the german translation. All in all, it's already well done. In a second step you should give the characters some "talking style", accent, regional differences and such, seems not consistent yet, but it also just a small slice of text you shared... hard to tell. (e.g. Tarkleigh and "Windeseile") Like the altered, medieval Nessa proposed by Mini_Me (for a few characters probably) "Exilanten" Well, yeah... like holocaustus pointed out, the word is not really usable outside of an academic paper, but since it's the name of the game... ok, it has to stay. (but you could use other expressions every now and then, so it doesn't get annoying) Bestel being poetic: just a literal translation as placeholder, I guess you make it a poem later. I'm not a writer but might try if I feel inspirated some day. Fellschrein: related to "fur" in some kind? :) I guess "fell" means something like huge/massive/brutal. oh and... I just realised that this topic is already three weeks old!? Why did'nt I notice? :/ Anyway, looking forward to read more :) Dynamit,
