Explanation on why static blows and added lightning does NOT work.

"No. It isn't. That was my main complaint about Krips build. Not only will the shock stacks not last long enough for a second cast, they only happen once per cast on average ( 20% with GMP )"

It does work my friend, sorry. And he built a marauder, so why the fuck are you linking his thread in a templar thread? His build, and this build goes seperate ways and meet at the end, we get more crit/crit multiplier/aps than what he does in his marauder *TANK* build. And yet shock works with his build, it will work even better with this one.

So gooby, just because some guy said it doesn't work, and kripp and several other INCLUDING a developer from GGG countered him and explained why and how it works, does not mean you have to come in this thread, link his post, and say it doesn't work because you know it doesn't and one more guy think it doesn't. I am not going to explain to you why it works, because you already linked another thread that explains it, and even within that link there is another link to where a dev explains how it works.

So gooby pls... gtfo.

Guys how do you raise your health or ES? I'm currently 36 and I have 290 health and 250 es. My damage is good but survivability is absolute crap.

Ignorance is bliss. Shock does NOT last long enough. Kripp has a shit ton of crit in his build too, over 25% on fp when he had worse gear, which is similar to this build lol. He only calls it a tank build because he has a lot of life which is possible via the Marauder start. Added lightning alone will not work.

But go ahead and keep using something that doesn't work.

Further, the original build only takes 3 real groups of ES nodes. The witch starter area and the 2 body and soul talents, and still goes CI (no ZO or GR also). I hope any hardcore character or any solo map farming character in end game maps (72+) is taking a few more by the Shadow tree.

What do you think of hp based version + eldritch battery?

I am bringing that up because no hp is really pain in the ass, makes me wanna reroll in norm lol.
This is where I am now:

Started having problems with mana aswell.

If you are going CI, you need to take Body and Soul. It is very annoying to try and go through the game without any ES or life nodes. You have to dodge everything. Invest in life early on or start taking ES early on. You NEED one of the two. I prefer life, but it is a preference.

Hey you,

Thanks for the guide.

I really looked forward to a new build with templar, that was not Kripparians :)

If you do not mind, i would like you to post all the gems you use! and which gem also could work.

I know i ask of alot.

Thanks.

Firstly I would like to apologize for neglecting this thread a bit; I've been busy with all the other stuff going on. This game really is the best game in the world!

On topic, to answer the previous post...

You do not ask a lot; however the OP contains the information you are looking for. Read through the first paragraph!

As for all the other people who have issues with the early game, and say there isn't enough Energy Shield; I seriously don't know what's the problem here. You just adapt and use up the points on nearby HP nodes. ES wise, to use CI you Need Good Gear. Do not switch to CI with crappy gear, it won't work. The switch to CI should be done when you can have at least 3k ES total.

Take 4 points in the Discipline and Training ring near templar start.
Take 3 points near the Endurance Charge.
Take 4 points near Zealots Oath.
Take 3 points below Static Blows.
Take 3 points in Witch starting tree.

Of course, if there is nothing to increase, all those nodes are useless. Gear up like you would gear up a Marauder - slap on some HP items.

Total cost, about 23 points. Worth the 5 regret orbs if your game is enjoyable because of the extra HP. Respec out of it when you want to switch to ES.

Those asking for step-by-step progression guide for every 10-20 levels, you cannot really expect me to foresee which gear you might drop, and how you play... It is far too situational to give everyone the same thing. Path of Exile is a game of adaptation, if you are unable to adapt, you will have a hard time playing.

And to end this post, I also apologize if I sound rude or offensive here; I am merely sharing my experiences and thoughts about the game. I rather help people make their own choice than being one making the choice for them, that's all.
Life is tough... but it is tougher if you're stupid.
