Outstanding! Didn't know about this sucker. Makes shopping the forums a LOT easier. Thanks!
Just an update from someone leveling this build (more or less). Up to 55 now and almost done with cruel (just have a quest or two to clean up). With a 5L chest (it's crappy) that I use for loading up freezing pulse and continuing to use a spell totem ice spear I'm doing fairly well overall in cruel.

The single biggest problem I have at this point is finding gear that will allow me to progress. I've tried the forums now (via the above handy search site) and it just doesn't seem to work either. Rarely (make that never for me - yet) does anyone respond.

For someone that is fairly casual and can only really allocate about an hour at a go, this trade system is just horrible beyond the basic stuff (generally just gems). I can't even get a trade for chromatics spamming trade chat. For those that have gotten good gear for progressing into merciless, did you have to just farm for it or did you figure out how to trade? If so, did you just spend your time on that as opposed to playing?

Getting frustrated I'm afraid :(
@azkinger

I suppose a mix of both, most of my gear is self-found, I am currently lvl60 in act1 merciless and my biggest issue is my armour, but overall the build is solid. You can of course try to farm and craft your gear, but it would be better to just watch the trade channel while you kill stuff.

Thanks. I do try to do that but I find that it really requires you to focus on it by hovering over everything. What makes it worse is that most people tend to link mostly junk. I may try to farm the first couple areas in A1 merciless and just see. May take a break and try another build too.

I really am very surprised at how much I enjoy the gameplay but the trading system may eventually turn me off of this game if they don't do something about it :(
Bump and update from me.

Still slowly working this build (more or less). Up to level 60 but still farming merciless ledge for gear. Swapped to a skeleton totem and leveled a GMP gem for freezing pulse which has made it mostly simple. Drop totem, curse, freezing pulse packs down and ice spear any remaining blues/greens.

Still enjoy the gameplay but I just wish there was an easier way to get gear. Plenty of funds at this point but so hard to find what you need. Just need more defenses (resist, ES, armor, life) before I can really progress. At least safely ...
Do you think the new nodes behind CI are worth picking up?
For everyone leveling with this build, be warned, in mid merciless you're going to have a terribly hard time progressing unless you have either tons of health and chaos resist on gear or you've gotten chaos inoculation. If you have gotten CI you'll have to juggle getting enough energy shield and elemental resistances on gear while maintaining a considerable amount of dex on gear as well due to there being no dex nodes in this build. My advice is to grab the 2 +30 dex nodes until you get enough dex on gear to use haste (which you probably never freaking will), and skip the spell damage/cast speed part of the witch tree until much much later. Keep in mind that freezing pulse does very good damage with LMP or GMP and doesn't need a lot to support it. Though if you want to use it with GMP you'll probably have to either spam mana potions like crazy (which is basically impossibly if you only have a tiny pool of available mana due to reserving so much with auras) or find a five link and use it with reduced mana or mana leech.

All that said, the efficacy of this build in endgame content is sketchy. If you forego getting getting the three increaesd buff effects passives like OP suggests then your mana regen from clarity will be severely reduced. You'll have to have massive amounts of +mana and increased mana regeneration on gear to compensate.

Well....I was checking the new passive skill tree and looks a bit too much different from the previous ....you loose all the cold dmg and the increase spell at the witch starting point.

I'm lvl74 now and I used the previous set and it works very very good ( still no CI ...I will get it around lvl77-78), olny problem is that I had to take the +30dex and str nodes.

tbh the change u have made is a bit too much and this is looks too different build , maybe you should change the name :P

if some one want to see the previous tree here it is ....pure iceT :)

The new passive tree is far more optimized though. The ES amount will be about equal to the old one, and the base cold damage is slightly lower, but the resource management, survivability, utility and skill setup got a major buff, which also result in more reliable damage output.

If you liked the old build, absolutely keep using it. Why not! But for any new IceT, as you guys like to call it, I recommend going for the new, current passive tree.
