Remove Only Stash Unlock!
" Guys, can someone explain to me how this new stash tab policy would generate more profit for GGG? I seriously don't understand this. I bought 18 stash tabs in Ambush and I was planning an upgrade after a month in standard. But now there is no point in doing that. I'll never pay for unlocking RO tabs. How can this change make more money for GGG? |

" I feel the same. But I suppose GGG thinks there will be more players that would feel pressured into "buying out" the RO tabs, that are players who now see buying additional tabs as completely pointelss. For every two or three players who wont buy more tabs, there will be someone who will buyout his 30+ RO stash. This is still profitable. When night falls

" But I still dont get it. Was it really too much hassle to move your things from RO tab into new fresh one? Remove only stash tabs are so convenient. And why anyone would feel "pressured into buing out RO tabs"? I, for one, will stick to my 22 stash tabs untill the end of my poe career. |

" What abuse? GGG has made an arpg game that they deliberately set the grind bar very high to reach level 100 so that we should be playing for years instead of months. GGG has provided 7 character classes and a massive passive tree to use to our hearts content to create dozens of years worth of builds. GGG wants us to buy new stash tab space (preferably premium) to allow us to store more items. GGG gives us drops for all builds and does not weight drops to the currently played build (like RoS) so a great melee item could drop from a ranger archer (or visa-versa) and need to be stashed. GGG is always adding new skill gems to keep build diversity high. These future skills may/probably require a completely different set of gear to work well so high quality gear that drops now but doesn't fit any current build needs to be squirreled away for use in the future. This all takes stash space so we buy more to accommodate our needs. More buying makes GGG happy. At the end of leagues/races that gear comes into our 2 permanent leagues as RO tabs. Everything is working as intended. Then GGG says to us, we're changing it so that the purchase of storage tabs is not being added to our existing quantity of stash space as new empty tabs but we (GGG) will randomly take a RO tab and make that a normal tab. And if that tab GGG has RNG chosen to convert is already 100% full? What then? I can vendor off the contents of my RO tab just as easily as I can vendor a full use stash tab to gain additional storage space but then the idea that we can collect items now and store them away for future use is lost. And if you say "well just buy as many new tabs as you currently have RO tabs"? No doubt that GGG financial would love for us all to do just that. That may work for some players. But for many and me (with 67 RO tabs in standard) that is totally impractical and impossible. Just for discussion sake, suppose I did buy 67 premium stash tabs. I would have a total of 97 tabs (30 normal premium tabs + the 67 converted tabs). Great, I've financially supported GGG more and we keep getting more content. Next 4 month league starts in August and I now have 97 full use stash tabs to use. Come Next November when that league is over look out. Now I get another 97 RO tabs dumped into Standard League. This is totally unsustainable. This is an impossible situation and can't be allowed to stay as is. The only way forward is for GGG to go back to the way it was (figure out another way to fix whatever technical problem they had with our storage space) and allow us to keep our RO tabs as RO and new tab purchases are added as new empty tabs. I do acknowledge and understand that it is impossible for GGG to keep expanding storage space forever and there needs to be a hard upper limit on total tabs (say 255) and GGG will need to incorporate a mechanism so that at a future 4 month league end and the transfer of the tabs will exceed the maximum that a permanent league can have that those tabs will be locked and I will then be required to downsize and vendor off some items. "You've got to grind, grind, grind at that grindstone..."

At first, one quick proposal which would be nice (at least) for race-award-tabs: merge of RO-Tabs.
win-win? We cannot "use" the tab, can still take out an item in any league, but it uses a lot less tab-space if you get 2 "race-reward" tabs instead of 34 individual ones. There's one details I didn't read in this discussion: There is no way to compare stuff from different tabs and it's very hard (I'd say impossible) to sell mediocre items. If one of these two would be easy, I'd clear my RO-Tabs, but I want to keep some stuff in case I could use it. Now I have some collections of standard, ambush, anarchy and whatever-league and can hardly tell which helmet/boots/rings/... to keep. If someone offered me an alch or a few alts, I'd sell it, and tabs would clear eventually. But this is difficult because it's technically difficult to bring seller and buyer together and because everyone see those incredible items of top players and also want "state of the art equipment". Partly related: I cannot check the itemlevel which is essential for the sorting/vendoring-decision. Dynamit,

IMO GGG should just set a timer on remove tabs and be done with it.
