Speedy Puncture + Pierce Split Arrow / Reflect Safe or Glass Cannon / Level 100 & Uber Atziri Farmer
Yea, if you have CWDT IC, lots of leech, and vaal pact / god gloves, reflect is really manageable. Also, having really high evasion helps a ton

Now I remember why I dislike trading, the price of Harbinger bows don't seem to be based on any sort of logic known to man(People trying to sell 200 pDPS Harb's with no Crit for more than an exalt, or with crit for 15ex, even though 200 pDPS is pitiful.)
So I've decided to make my CI attempt self-found, I spammed 16 chaos to get two close to decent bows, that I'll just finish off with Bench Crafting, by putting crit on the one missing crit, and phys on the one missing phys. I suppose the downside to that is I have no idea how quickly/slowly the Masters level, so I have no ETA on when I can actually do that. But on the plus side, I got a nice crit roll on the one, and Crit Multi and Accuracy as well, so with some phys scaling to take it to around 250 pDPS it should at least mostly work, still a bit grumpy that that's what I had to resort to to get a bow. |

This looks like one of the most promising 1.2 approaches to a SA/life ranger that can handle end game content, bosses, and Atziri. God Gloves will be totally out of reach for me in the new leagues, though. Seems hard to come up with a good, cheap phys SA ranger in 1.2, somehow. (I wonder about Tornado Shot, but that's for a different thread.)

" Towards the end of ambush league, I browse poe.xyz diligently hoping to find bargain. I manage to bought 2 decent 300ish phys+ele harbinger for less than 15chaos each. I think the seller just want to do fast sale because some 200ish harbinger were already sold at 1 or 2 exalt. After ambush ported to standard, it is impossible to find bargain for harbinger. I have to pay 1 exalt for white 5L/6S harbinger. I still bought it because the itemlevel is 77. Have to spam tens of chaoses then-after to get that roll. Hoping that I can insert phys in the new mini expansion. I was thinking of grinding for exalt and eternal to craft phys into it. Right now this bow become 'poor-man windripper' for me to do CoC. |

Made a level 88 tree with new pathing. Dropped power charges, the build has:
144% max life (can be extended if scion wheel is opted in 5+ points @level 93+) Acrobatics + Phase Acrobatics + ondar's guile for decent evasion 361% physical damage (as bow, physical and projectile combined) 62% attack speed 26% movespeed (didn't yet spec celerity cluster) 432% crit chance (getting +1 max power charge from alira is still pretty good) 106% crit multiplier 2% life leech, no mana leech (can be opted with 3 points if needed) If anyone can find a better pathing, please post it so we can know :) |

Question on Puncture:
why you don't regret 3 points from some pyhsical bow damage and put it on Entropy (9+9+27% Damage over time)? All my builds: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1830178

I wouldn't be so worried about the prices if they at least made sense, but when unusable bows with damage too low to ever have any use are being sold for the same price as an endgame viable piece of gear I just get confused, I really don't understand who the target market for that is. I'd happily drop 5-10ex on a good peice of gear, just not the silliness that's up on xyz, since I can make better myself for cheaper.
Oh well, whining aside, I guess I won't be making the bow build until I level up a few masters to the point where I can make some usable gear, and if that's the case I might just want to wait until I've progressed sufficiently in the Rampage League. On the plus side, it looks like the passive tree's changing such that I can convert my Low-life Arc witch into a Low-life Solaris Lorica build that has almost 8k ES and nearly 30K self-cast Ice Spear DPS(Well 30k on Ice Spear's second stage, much less on the first stage due to missing out on like half of my crit chance), which isn't half bad for a build that cost 5ex, certainly a better investment than a cruddy 200dps bow for the same price. So at least I'll have a good build to level the Masters up with while waiting to try out some Puncture fun. Last edited by Shotgun_Surgeon#5561 on Aug 18, 2014, 1:05:05 PM

Some bow prices are outrageous... I recommend crafting a bow, it will be a lot cheaper (unless you get extremely unlucky). In ambush, when there weren't any decent bows on the market, I 6s5l'd a high ilvl harbinger white, then alch chaosed it around 100 times and got a 280pDps roll, which was about a 4ex total at the time. If you're lucky, you could also get an insane bow. Definitely worth it to craft if the prices people are asking for are so outrageous.

Here is my current state.
Spoiler
Once Forsaken Masters hits, I was planning to do some affix crafting on some of the items. Here is my current plan: Armour - Fire resistance Diamond Rings - Life on one, Lightning resistance on the other? Boots - Fire resistance or Life Belt - Lightning resistance Bow - IPD%/Accuracy hybrid or Crit chance Any input on this plan? Currently, I'm lacking a bit on resistances, and need to run purity. Is this generally how it is? Last edited by Grim#8371 on Aug 18, 2014, 2:11:02 PM
