St. ELMO's Fire (Dual Totem, Dual Curse, EE, Fire Trap Templar) NERFED :( RIP build

wow I was actually thinking to make this kind of build. I didn't know how to start it. thanks man. is it alright to use different totem such as spark totem? I did bit different into the build since I'm going for more ES with bit of hp nodes. Since I could get 30% resistance just equipping a shield+ 8% from bandit quest. Will gain the rest from equipment.
BoomExplosion - Templar (BOOM!)
_Sistar_ - Duelist (currently rerolling him)
FakeShooter - Ranger (meh LA, iceshot rangerrr)
FakeMaster - Shadow (might start when I get everything)

all i can say here is that sparks "doesnt need to hit the target" all the time, where arc hits and chains other mobs - so i personaly think that arc > spark

hmm I suppose you're right. what you think about ice spear? it got nice range and slow/freeze monster down also.

Atm I'm using two fire trap and a bear trap at lv12 while spamming sparks. I usually just throw 1-2 fire trap on mobs and spam sparks to kill them quickly. I only use bear trap on boss/ rare monsters. I find it fun =D I even kill Brutus in around 8 secs

ice spear is very good cc-wise, really helps you controling mobs - i dont have that skill gem yet sadly otherwise i would test it.
i found out that combining skills with spell totems is big fun (casting curses-so u dont have to, chasing monsters (but only one at a time), etc.) so u can do crazy stuff :) so i think u wont do a bad if u mix those two totems together

I been out for a bit. Wow lotta questions I hope I get to all of them! I only got a tiny bit of time b4 the wife gets home and its V-day!

Ice spear is nice but shocking is nicer! Plus arc auto hits 3 enemies every shot so it triggers the EE for the traps to do more damage. Add in shock and dmg output is insane.

Any know a good setup for flasks yet?
I'll post my new flask setup on main page.

is it alright to use different totem such as spark totem?
I recommend arc because spark can only hit a single enemy max of 1 time per second. ARc also has greater chance to shock and it will hit every time from far away.

much appreciated. by frost nova does he mean ice nova? cuz i cant find a frost nova gemprolly

What skills did you rely on early and such?
Early on I used frost nova / molten shell + 2 fire traps and 2 bear traps.
I wanted to keep the bear traps, but fire traps do just as much damage and overall kiling speed is faster with 4x fire traps

any way to make bear traps stronger than fire traps + ee ? Or is fire traps the better option generally.
Bear traps are good but later on teh high dex requirement and only single target dmg turns me off of them. Zombies keep the enemy occupied while u throw fire traps so locking them in place doesn't matter.

So you like hybrids? I can't figure out a good flask set and what mods I want for them yet.

Also I was v bored and found the problem with the OP.

Its somewhere around the theorized end build section there is an extra italic open tag

thanks ima go check it out!

Yes I've been using hybrids because regen is faster and I don't have to think about seperate health or mana regen.

Congrats on a pretty good 2 hour race, Pete! Suddenly noticed your name on the first page. In the end you beat Kripp by 600 exp. What kinda templar were you playing?

Anyway, thanks for this cool idea for a build. I am giving it my own twist though, partly because I am playing default league and also because I finally (on my 4th char now) feel comfortable enough with Skilldrassil to impose my own ideas on it. However, the basics are the same and I am having a blast with it.

That's all, just acknowledging these things!

edit: P.S. terrible character name for the race!

Thanks. Yeah I was hoping for top 10 but had a few problems. Lag forced me to alt+f4 in rocky climb and I had to run from ledge back through rocky. I was hoping to get to waterfall level 2 but when facing alira after 4 tries I gavce up and lvled in western. I kept running out of mana vs alira :/ That cost me teh game. SO If I would have just ran str8 to westerm and leveld instead of completing all of the other quests in A2 I would have been up there :/ Next time!

In Default league I would probably get rid of the shield blocking nodes and most of the life nodes and go for the faster casting / increased area nodes by the witch.

isn't four fire trap too much? I know you could spam those fire trap for insane damage, but you won't have enough sockets space for extra support gems to link for your fire trap.

This should be a good start for my EE base dual totem Templar.

However I plan to use triple element to max out EE.

I think i will use ice spear totem and fire trap but still can not decide the lighting part.

What you guy think will be the best between Spark/Arc/Nova?
