got the 6L in 30 fusings, the 5L in 100 fusings.

My actual chest was 6L in 2280 fusings but with a lottery, I gave 8ex to the winner.

I just want to pop in to say that I have absolutely no problem with a 6 link being very very hard to achieve. What I do have a problem with though is the chance of being very very unlucky in the process. I understand, that the chance to get a 6link in 30 or 100 or even 1 fusing is needed to fuel gambling excitement.
On the other hand I dont think there needs to be a chance for people to be very unlucky and hate themselves and life after not getting a 6link in 2k+ fusings. What exactly is the purpose of that ? Is it there so people that DONT get unlucky can feel good about having gotten away from bad variance ??
I think there needs to be some kind of safety net. Like you can start a linking project that guarantees success after 2k fusings or something, that wouldnt even increase the number of 6links a great deal. Or if they really wanted, ggg could adjust the chances accordingly, so that the overall number of 6links stays exactly the same. Keep in mind that there are similar pseudo random systems already in the game - evasion isnt totally random for example.

Right now I wont ever touch fusings outside of 4linking because I cant stand the variance. Id also happily buy a 5link for 150 fusings or a 6 link for 1.5k ... not saying we should be able to buy them though ...

If you can't stand the possibility of getting screwed by rng then buy the item pre linked. When you gamble you take the chance of being insanely lucky, insanely unlucky or anything in between. The price to buy a 6l outright is usually less than average.

Bottom line, if you either don't understand how it works or take the chance to get lucky and fail then don't come crying afterwards, you should have just bought it outright.

I don't get the mindset of trading for fusings so you can link a unique yourself.
Maybe a perfect rare you found or made yourself.
But a unique... why not just trade for that?
According to xyz you could have got a 6L carcass jack AND a 6L lightning coil for around 80ex.

Were you really hoping to end up with multiple 6Ls so you could profit?

Have you been using armour scraps at all?

I know it's tedious if you are trying to link a unique chest, but even a few percent quality seems to have an effect.

I personally craft white base items with 4 x Armour Scraps each fusing for the full 20%. Now that I'm able to do 75+ maps I also only fuse when I find a good 6 socket base item which saves me the cost in jewelers.

I've made 20-30 x 5 link items and in that time 3 chests have hit 6 links first. Along with the armour scrap cost this is how many fusings they took:

The stats on the chests were gotten from chaos spamming, the carnal has been the hardest, used alts + regal and 1 exalt and still not happy with it, if it had hit 100 or more ES I would have been happy.
