Sheer Frustration: 27 5L's later, no 6L...... Yes, Twenty-fucking-Seven 5L's.

The two-week race results are relevant. Whether you believe they are or not.

You showed a few guys that played a handful of builds in this race.

And, you know, if you plan on getting a 6L in a race you're either too confident or a bloody idiot.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

The point is: getting somewhere with a 5L most assuredly doesn't take ages. You can get your character very high level in just two weeks of rather hardcore playtime.

Even with a 4L, there are some builds which do just fine. Generally speaking, you do want at least a 5L for endgame, but it falls just short of actually being required.

Getting a 6L doesn't even guarantee you'll outperform some other build's 5L.

All of the above is heavily supported by actual evidence. Your arguments are not backed by anything but your own personal opinions and biases. Mine are backed by actual performance.

Actually 5L is required for endgame because most builds will end up needing to boost their DPS in the 8k-10k range to ensure they aren't taking too many hits from mobs (you do actually have to kill them fairly quickly or they will overwhelm your defense and kill you). Etup was able to do it with around 8k with his EK build, and even then it was slow as fuck and he took tons of damage (he had a Kaom's too).

Not to mention, most builds end up needing to insert a lifesteal gem somewhere, and any elemental weapon damage build will probably need WED. Most builds rely on lifesteal to offset the damage taken by mobs (it's a fuck ton in the mid to upper 70s for certain mob packs), so you will need to do serious damage to quickly recover it. Vaal Pact builds in particular need to have big damage.

There's maybe a handful of builds that work with a 4L, and most of those require an Empower Gem which takes forever to level and might as well be called a 5th link. That or the item required basically gives you a 6l/7l (Bringer of Rain)

I seriously don't understand what is wrong with you people.

It's as simple as this: There are four people who could wander into this thread right now and say: "Hey, I got level 96 in less than two weeks of calendar time, in Ambush, and I didn't need a 6L at all. Oh, and I didn't die, not even a single time. Also, I barely traded because the league had just started and the economy was still kind of weak." And they'd be telling the truth.

And one of them could say they did it with an Animate Weapon build.

And I'm done trying to convince people of what should be obvious.

I seriously don't understand how you cannot respect that someone may have a different opinion.

What you tell is neither true nor "obvious", it is just what you believe to be true and obvious.

I lost sight of what this thread is about.
GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.

is about the "fucking" ridiculous pain required to get a 6L :>
It was about that, and it should be again.

I've covered thoroughly how a 6L is not required. This does not mean that trying to get a 6L by using Fusings is by any means an enjoyable experience, for it most definitely is not. When people QQ and say the cost in Fusings should be reduced, or the RNG should be smoothed out... well, those solutions are lazy at best and game-ruining at worst, but I totally understand why they propose them — the Fusing system is naturally so unpleasant that many players' natural response is to just hope it would be over as soon as possible. It's the rough equivalent to those cartoons where someone ties one end of a string to their tooth and the other end to a doorknob — a desperate and stupid attempt at a solution, motivated by pain.

Friends stop their friends from enacting solutions like that. But that doesn't mean we don't know those feels.
