The REAL Beta Numbers Thread

Since this thread has a lot of useful information and analysis about the beta invite system, I bumped it again for the newcomers.

Quoted from PoE - About: "Path of Exile immerses the player in a gritty and realistic art style that goes against the current industry trend of cartoony RPGs. ". NUFF SAID.
Why isn't this stickied? It should be.
Edited first and second posts with current account/character info and estimates for the three weeks since the last update. The average number of accounts created per day may come as a surprise to many.

The current estimated possible beta accounts is more than 10,644, or about 7.25% of all accounts.

Thanks :)

I asked Chris if he would be willing to verify any of this, but he declined due to (the obvious) issues of keeping the system as difficult to exploit as possible. The less we know, the more secure the system :/

Finally a post worth reading. Excellent, awesome, great, splendid, spiffy...and I could go on forever. Great contribution, greatly appreciated.
Just exactly how much of a bonus do forum posters get for the beta invite as I have just seen 3 beta invites in the last hour for 3 people who logged in once to create an account and have never looked at the web site again!
We only know that forum posters get 10x the chance of non-posters. Since we don't know how many accounts are in each category (or the total number of eligible accounts), we can't calculate the chances to exact numbers.

GGG devs have stated that the number of non-posting accounts is far greater than posting ones, so it's logical that non-posters will be picked more regularly.

Added another 3-week update. Since the timer interval is the same as the previous 3-week span, that means another ~1,210 accounts have been selected.

~260 accounts have been created per day over the past 3 weeks.

Estimate for the number of possible beta accounts is over 13,870.
