Incident Report for March 20 Downtime

small team, shit happens, your overall uptime is actually better than any other online game I can think of and that is appreciated.

in the end you pushed a live fix within the hour, it's nice that you hold yourself to high standards but don't whip yourself bloody with a belt while reciting the bible naked please.

If it makes you feel any better, it is worth noting that this downtime was about 1/10th as long as your main competitor usually takes for "routine maintenance" at least once a week. Unless there's actually some sort of patch to go with it in which case you can add another 4 hours or so. Then double it.

Path of Exile goes down for a couple hours once in a blue moon: GGG apologizes profusely.

Wow. Man, don't be so hard on yourself. PoE is a fantastic game, with a great support team. Stuff happens, and it's probably a good thing that we were forced to get some fresh air for an hour. :-)

Besides the great Game itself & the Fact that these Troubles happen extremely rarely, this Kind of Communication is the Reason so many of us are with GGG & PoE for such a long Time (Years) now :) ...

Seriously though. This is the only game I've ever played where the community does not just get the standard blurp of 'we had downtime, unlucky, deal with it'.

Knowing what happened somehow makes everyone feel better as we know why we had downtime.

PoE team is doing a fantastic job on this game. Don't burn yourselves out though. Remember to take yourselves offline occasionally also. Even the best of systems needs a defrag occasionally.

Guys, your response time is fantastic...I wouldn't be quite so hard on yourself. If you take a look at the tickets I have in my queue for work, you'd see how awesome your response was. ;D

I do have a thought, though...I was pretty sure this had to do with the recent rash of spam coming from 1 particular site that poppped up yesterday, with many different users. Any comment as to whether my thoughts were accurate?
