spell totem wouldnt work well for EK, the totems would just end up 1 shotting themselves. Youll want to remote mine the EKs, and since mines dont leech just drop the life leech for the support slot.

Does remote mine, get bonuses from hatred aura+added fire damage gem? Since added fire damage says xx% of YOUR physical damage, I'm assuming a mine has 0 phys damage and therefore would add nothing? Anyone know mechanics on that

So I leveled this build to 55 in HC over the weekend, everything is going well so far but I am beginning to have some concerns as I start merciless. First, my armor is very low as it is really hard to find pure armor or armor/es gear with the necessary 3g to support EK+Mana Leech+Fork/Chain as well as my double bear trap to culling. This leaves me with a lot of evasion that cannot be converted to armor for quite awhile as IR comes in the 70's even if u skip some stuff to go to it. I have not taken EB yet as I am trying to get to IR first, but did not realize how many nodes it took to get there. Here is my build so far

I am thinking I should maybe drop some of the dmg nodes to rush IR faster and get a bit more life? I am sitting at 2k life and 400 ES right now, not so sure I feel comfortable with that starting merci on HC. Any suggestions are appreciated!

I'm just lvl 68 but here how I proceed (I think, I just followed Byrr's tips ^^)

1 - Leveled to Inner force
2 - then I went to EB.
3 - From here I rushed to IR taking all life node on the road and skipping all damage node (attack speed and such)

During step 3 I kind of lacking dex for bear trap, so I focused on +dex on gear, but was really hard to maintain 75@all + enought dex.

Now, I'm able to run 5 aura and cast my EK without getting oom fast.

It does great damage, farming Merciless Fellshrine, I 1 or 2 shot mobbs. And It was like that the whole game until now, that's why I kinda skipped all damage node.


My only concern is, I use this :

and my cast speed realllyyyyyyy suck, should I try to chromatic orb the armor and go for GGRRB ? removing fork for cast speed ?

Hi there, I started a character in HC and I'm using a similar build^^
I just defeated Piety cruel very easy, it's my first HC character so my equip is pretty bad.

LvL 53 Build

Iron Reflex + Inner Force + Determination + Grace = 6k armor with lvl 40 equip xD
I used Freezing Pulse with LMP until lvl 30-35, there I switched to EK, with Clarity, mana reg rings and amu I don't have any problem with mana, I can spam EK all day long with 200 mana :D
For single target I use, obviously, Bear Trap.

Build at LvL 80

you should grab 2 superior white life potions while farming. Some bubble to 20% quality then use your orb and you'll get what you want !

Not that hard because these orbs cost nothing.

I just found those 2 potions at the start of act1 Merciless, I used different potion when I killed Piety^^

This is my revised build after taking out some dmg nodes with respec points. I am running clarity, grace, and discipline. Is it worth running grace before taking IR? I feel pretty tanky starting Act 1 bout 2.5k hp and 500 ES. Suggestions?
