This is what you should get and after that you can go for the addons, more HP, more manaregen if you need it and ofc go for the bonus armor too at somepoint, atleast thats what i did.

I have a question about which support gem to use on EK.

I actually use Fork, and I'm thinking of trading a Chain.

But, since the price is fairly high, I would like to know, when did you guys change Fork to Chain ?

Do I need to lvl chain before using it ?
Do I need a lot of mana ?
Do I need a impressive base damage ?

Here, I need like 1 or 2 EK on white mobbs act3 merciless, is it time for me to switch ?

I think chain is overrated..atleast for EK , got lvl17 CHAIN and i still prefer to use FORK, maybe that would change whit best in slot gear but for average gear no way..

i dislike chain with EK as well. the added range is nice, but i find faster projectiles provides plenty of range as is.

the 200% mana cost multiplier makes it not as appealing for EK imo. currently i roll with Life leech, mana leech, faster projectiles. If i had a 5 link i would throw in Added Fire Damage.

EK fires 10 projectiles as is, which is great for AoE. i think Chain can feel less effective in a lot of cases.

Ya after experimenting with various 4L combo's this weekend, I found I like Ek + Faster Projectiles + Added Fire + Mana Leech the best. If and when I get a 5slot I will throw fork on > CHain tbh.

How are you guys making up for the lack of resist nodes? Mine are just bad in merciless (just got there). I have temporarily taken the really bad +6all and +15random nodes along the build path until my gear catches up...but i feel like that will be a while so im 9 points in the hole for a while.

I think the lack of resists is one of the biggest downsides of most EK builds I have looked at. I am now in act 2 merci, have put alot of orbs into my gear, and am still only at 60/40/35. Just work on your gear would be my suggestions and prioritize resists and life over everything because EK already does amazing dmg.

So I've been running pretty much the build byrr posted on page 15. I had around 40-45% phys damage reduction at level 78. Not the greatest gear, but 4.1k hp and I didn't have many close calls until a few minutes ago... I just killed my self in one shot to a reflect pack :p. My ek only had 2.4k dps but reflect is just a nasty problem for this build, if you get lazy you will one shot yourself, just a matter of time.
