POE: The Best of Games and the Worst of Games

no drops
insane rng crafting
huge market unbalances
huge technical issues
bad gameplat, a new player is SCREWED , coming into poe, he wont be able to get past 65 without external help
this game is trash bin

I would not go that far. I think it is a partially brilliant game with serious issues to address, as do many many of the players, but as some have said GGG is very unlikely to fix it, because they somehow view the mechanics as hardcore.

when people complain its too hard to get the best drops(which is what 99 percent of the complaints leveled at this game boil down too including OP's post the rest is desync).I mean people dont have issues getting to end game, they have issues they dont have all the best gear in the world after a month of playtime. Which means casuals are mad because they cant get the best drops as easily as they think they should, then its a hardcore game. Just remember "hardcore: in the context of videogames can mean many different things. PoE has no full respec, you loose alot of XP when you die at high levels and its really difficult to get BiS items. PoE is a perfect example of a hardcore arpg. so please tell me whats your idea of a hardcore arpg?

IF you play on a casual basis like many of us(including me) expecting to have a stash full of 6 links and exalted orbs is a pipe dream and unrealistic. I understand the frustration, I really do, I even share it sometimes but this game is meant to be frustrating to a certain extent, its not meant to be a walk in the park and the sooner people like OP accept that the better. I am not saying there isnt room for improvement in these areas but what you people want, in my opinion would ruin the game.
GGG, listen to what this guy has to say.

I never once complained about not getting the best drops that is a complete misread of what I said. And I am really tired of the "hardcore" vs. "casuals" nonsense, it's a GAME. Not an Olympic event. It should be fun. For everyone. And a very difficult hardcore game can be fun. Getting the best drops is not analagous to making the game more fun, which is what you mistakenly hear. But the crafting system is not fun, adds nothing to the game and does nothing to the game but it make it more frustrating.

It is probably because most people are "doing it wrong"

"Crafting" was created as a currency sink, people can gamble their currency away or save up to trade for other items.

There is far more control now with the introduction of Eternal orbs where people can actually roll the perfect piece of gear. If you read Kolps thread about it taking 700 Exalted to roll that perfect dagger, I believe that that is about right to get an absolute perfect piece of gear.

That alone made it a lot more controlled where before 1 bad exalt would trash your "craft".

Also, blowing all your currency and having nothing to barter with isn't the way to go either. Think of this system much like the Casino, you got bills to pay (Maps) but want to have some fun (Craft), you just need to manage your gambling problems.

+1 to everything else the OP said.

Edit: The crafting system does add SOMETHING to the game, that is a currency sink. I find it hard to come up with anything else with the Orb system we have been given to make crafting better outside of the RNG that it is. If you guarantee X result after Y tries everyone just grinds out X and says OK give me godlies...

If you knew that say a 6L cost 1000 fusings to put in the vendor window and get your 6L, would you roll with the current system for a 1:1000 chance or pay the 1000 guarantee?

Nobody here complained about not getting the best drops, this is a complete strawman.
Completely agree.

I've been telling this for quite some time. The drop rates are abysmal. I had couple of real life friends, all passionate gamers, quit after I talked them into giving PoE a chance, out of sheer fact that they felt the game unrewarding.

I've now played countless characters and I've never had a unique drop that I felt overjoyed. Never had eternal drop, forgot when was the last time exalted or divine drop etc.

GGG is designing their game not for hardcore gamers, but for 1% of hc population - streamers. What GGG doesn't seem to grasp is that streamers will always get those 6L voltaxic and shavrones, no matter how bad drops are, while the normal hardcore players are getting shafted.

Honestly, I'm sick of these dropping:

Spoiler
„I don't give a fuck if it was his tenth anniversary with his goddamn neckbeard...“
„If they think I'm going to let them sweep this pizza guy thing under the rug...“
No mod action. Business as usual.

RNG is and has always been hardcore. Learn your definitions, hardcore doesn't mean fair in any ways, it's actually the opposite.
People who bitch over RNG are too mentally weak for it and should play LoL instead.

I have yet to find one of those beastly uniques either but if/when one does I will shoot through the effin roof. That is what keeps me going, whether I finally 6L an armor, find that godly rare or that Shavs/Volt/Kaoms etc.

I do wish they would put a semi-rewarding Unique sink recipe in.

I had an Exalted drop yesterday, and I love the feeling. If they were more common they would be treated exactly like the lesser currency.

Look at races, you have no idea how excited people get over Alchemy Orbs! :D

Even if this was sarcasm, it is pretty accurate. (except for playing LoL, they should play Dota 2, prizes are RNG'd and makes the game more hardcore)

Yeah, that usually keeps the player going in these kind of games, but every now and then you need to drop such an item to player, to keep him going for the next drop. when this first drop doesnt ever happen, it's hard going on.

And dont get me wrong, Im not looking for 6L voltaxic, shavrones or kaoms, I'd settle for a worse uniques, just a high end one, thatts worth rerolling.

Also, just counted, every single item on my main character except the boots was purchased. Which is quite sad.
