...::: SFL Poll results and conclusions :::...
" More or less yeah. You know what my current plan is? I have a unique that will soon be legacy, when the current leagues end I will sell it and make more exalts than I could possibly obtain in a few months of playing. Trading Sim FTW! " It is the same logic that is used to split hc from sc. |

"How? Removing trading, in and of itself, does nothing to make solo gameplay rewarding, because players can already choose not to trade. For an example of the "how": "Now there are ways to fine-tune drops which can be done without causing massive inflation in the economy, and there are ways which cannot, and deteego's implication is that the kind which cannot is necessary to make self-found a viable experience. I'm not saying I endorse this policy, but I am saying some policy similar to this is a self-evident yet often unspoken part of what SFLers are trying to do. When it comes to increased drop rates in particular, the question is: would it solve the problem? My answer to this question is: no. I view the problem with self-found not as one of progression — you can check out a solo race to see progression without trading is possible — but instead one of affordances. For those who don't feel like watching the linked video: when you come across a door with a vertical handle, you intuitively feel a command to pull, rather than push. When you come across an item which isn't an upgrade for your character, you want to squeeze value from it — either from vendoring or trading; when you come across currency, you want to squeeze value from it — either by crafting or trading. I understand self-founders go through the game feeling this continuous push to trade, due to the design of affordances in the game which make them compelled to do so, making them want to open those "pull" doors and step through them to the PoE marketplace which lies beyond; however, removing the marketplace by itself doesn't do anything to alter the affordances themselves, keeping the doors in place while ensuring those doors lead nowhere — nothing but a brick wall behind them. When Stephen Colbert was killed by HYDRA's Project Insight in 2014, the comedy world lost a hero. Since his life model decoy isn't up to the task, please do not mistake my performance as political discussion. I'm just doing what Steve would have wanted.

" I agree with you that solo gameplay doesn't change with the addition of a SFL, but the competitiveness of the play style does benefit. As it is now, there is no real way of knowing if a person is a SF player and that they have not benefited from others that have traded. |

Well lets do it straight right? All Specs people can imagine just need 6 things
*Attack Power (=ProjectileDamage=Spellpower=Miniondamage=Trapdamage=Totemdamage=DetonateDead Damage=Bleeding Damage) *Crit (Increased Crit Multiply=Increased Shock Chance = Increased Freeze Chance= Increased Burning Chance) *Resists (=minus Resist for Enemies = Minion/Totem Resist = Minus Reflect = Minus Lightning Thorns) *Attack Speed (=Castspeed=Increased Duration=Reduced Duration what you need ofc) *Lifeleech (=manaleech=Charges) *Stamina (=Mana=EnergyShield=Armor=Dodge=Parry=Block=Spellblock=MinionLife=TotemLife) For sure I forgot some things that are in the game so please tell me what I am missing PS: Ahh yes + elemental damage = Attackpower too. There you go. All gear will just have this stats and we are done. Now you do not even need a self found league. Everything you find will work and it will just suck if the rolls are not better than what you already have. And thats what basicly stands behind this "self found league" propaganda in its core. This will bring up insane motivation to keep the game playing for years. It will be fucking awesome and no one (D3) did it till now and no one is even thinking about improving (D3) such a system so that you just see explosions of insane loot (D3) and the hard choice is what to use because everything is good, right (D3)? And now lets start with the trolling: Do you realise what you ask the game to do? The game needs to understand what kind of spec you plan to play and what gear you will need. So that the game is playing you in the end and not you the game. And to be serious I would rather watch a Let's Play (what I will do for Diablo3 to see the "content" and don't play it at all. PS: Dont try it with polls please. Surveys are always done one way. You tell me what results you want and I will build you the survey for it. They are just not representative at all and they are not meant too. And yours was also not because you just simply did not write down what needs to happen to make this work properly. Did you even think about? And the other thing I just want to point out is the mistake you do too without noticing it. That every variable you do not count/use/make us off stays constant. And thats is just never true. And ofc if you want to play self found just do it. It works too its just slower or you are the RNG Jesus than its as fast as trading if not even faster. Because the trader has to get the currency first. The only reason you are not doing it is because...yes you know you are I***N***! PPS: Btw guys did you recognize that since Hearthstone is public our most loved whining bitches are gone? And guess what forum is now full of bitching? THX BLIZZARD ! " That works for noncompetitive solo self found, but doesn't work for competitive SF. |

" I actually think 5L is okay, since you can buy fusings and jews from vendor. Alchemy and chisel is harder. 6L still hard of course.
" I have this problem now on my fresh self found character. Level 74 ranger and still no reduced mana yet. Cannot use Hatred and Grace at the same time. I know level 74 is low still but perhaps I will make a mule soon :(
