...::: SFL Poll results and conclusions :::...

It's clear that no one can define what SFL means, so arguing about it's existence is a waste of bandwidth. Let it die.

Or try to make a consensuses... but naahhhh that would make the generic forum users brain explode... then again it would be easy with a poll.. THEN A G A I N people against those consensuses would argue that a poll isn´t representative.

So yeah you´re kinda right.

What a surprise that an entire league can't have every person unanimously agreeing on every feature of that league. Oh no that's totally normal.

Yeah, it's obvious that those who refuse to exploit the game through a trading system are the ones who exploited another game through its trading system...

Obvious.

I can do silly arguments too:

Since not all people agree what is hardcore - is it perma-delete on death or emigrate-to-Scrub? Is it alt-F4 chickenleague or stand your ground man-mode? - then obvously hardcore league cant exist :P

----

A SFL is what the acronym stands for - self found. You cant buy gear, you cant sell gear, you progress with what you loot. Nowhere it says its a solo league, else it would be called a solo league. And gear is shared among your chars, but if you want per-char SF, you can easily enforce it yourself.

So why the need for a SFL? Because it's the only* way to have legit ladders, where cheating inclined players dont RMT, Xtrade & scam their way up. A SFL would also remove botters, scammers, flippers.. and all that crap that exists solely because of trading. Therefore looting could be 'rebalanced' because you would not need to safeguard an economy. But I'm not going into that, else I will be accused of being an AH3 player and casual whatever... The irony -_-

I would play in a SLF without any adjustments other than no-trading.

(* since GGG obviously cant / wont enforce their own rules on RMT, Xtrade & scam)

I don't really understand this. So people who want to fight over items don't want to fight over items if they have an option not to? Sounds like they want the option not to have to fight over items or they are really confused.
Hi

I been writing this idea of what a balanced SFL mode could be like for a while. SFL is about questing not about hoarding orbs and trading them. Part of the difficulty of such a league is the fake orb ''crafting'' system. Gambling is not crafting, it can still exist though but with the added option of saving orbs and otherwise useless rares for their mods and crafting at vendor to create a specialized orb that would roll certain stats, this specialized orb could later be further refined with higher lvl orbs, this would promote actual crafting on top of the present ''crafting'' system. Which leads to next issue of SFL: orb drops, which wouldn't be a issue since players can't trade.

SFL:1)No trades.2)No Mf rolls on blue or yellow items.3)Increased orb drop rate, not items.4)Permanent loot allocation for parties.5)New specialized orbs and recipes allowing actual crafting.

I like many other POE players since CB have suggested the idea of SFL because we like the game and feel that this game is missing out on the third option mode:standard,hardcore,self-found mode, but of course we have equally realized over the time since CB that GGG thinks that SFL is a dumb mode and can only be promoted via private self paid leagues because GGG(Qarl) knows they can make money off of this and that it is a valid idea, good ol' reverse psychology...

SFL will happen but not in smart way we think it should happen.
