For a very dedicated few, maybe.

To me 2 and a half months have made the trick.

This game is extremely flawed in some aspects, choosing not to talk about them is not going to make the game better.

PoE is being made for the dedicated so I don't see a problem there. You seem to be the casual type of player, that means PoE just isn't a type of game made for you. You want instant gratification which PoE won't give. It just won't. And that's why me and my friends love it.

We've waited for this kind of non-forgiving, non-instant-gratification, non-mainstreamed, non-dumbded down for the masses -game over 10 years, that is since D2, and that now that finally got it, I for one am not going to allow some casuals try to change the fundamental aspects of the game to suit their instant-gratification needs.
Maybe you are not casual, but everything you've said points towards that.

Necroing threads now to make the issue seem more "important"? Yeah not a chance.

Oh yeah btw, SFL is never going to happen. And that's a good thing and will make PoE playable for 10 years.

I really don't get why SLF would reduce PoE playability time. Please give some arguments instead of simple trolling.

For me, it would clearly improve play time, because I would have long term goals to which I can progress with loot and rng-craft etc. And be excited each time I get an upgrade. Now, I can "do the same", but in the meantime I can get them way quicker by just hoarding orbs and trading for what I need, which feels like working and waiting for retirement (what I hate irl). That belittles my accomplishement and make it way less interesting as a goal.
The important word in SLF is LEAGUE. We want a league, we want to progress, see how others are faring, have fun taunting friends that play about the same time as us but have less stuff, etc. You know it's needed anyway since you all agree that we need a hardcore league. If the "you can play self-found already" argument had any truth to it, we wouldn't need domination AND nemesis. People would want to play hardcore could juste delete they character on death. This has been said like 1000 times, and yet people continue to say "you can play SF already" when they know that the exact same argument wouldn't work for "you can play hardcore already".

I think what people aren't getting, is that most slf wanting people would prefer a SLF with the EXACT same droprates as the current leagues than playing on trade leagues !
Of course if we remove trade, drops could be balanced around killing monster, which would make the game way more fun. And by drops I include maps, its horrible currently to play solo sf and to be compeled to play low lvl maps all day. And btw, another argument against "you can play sf already" : you can't play high lvl map sf continuously, and spending days killing monsters that have 15 less level than you is really not a fking "hardcore action rpg", it's "faceroll korean mmo farm rpg".
But EVEN WITHOUT those drops rate change, it would still be better for us to be on a SFL. The playability would truelly be 10 years, because it would be the time it took to get godly stuff in sfl for the majority of players. Now, it's really not 10 years for people who have the same mindset has me (i.e. a lot of people), because spending 6 months hoarding alts/chaos, buying a godlike item, spend 6 other months hoarding alts/chaos, buying an item, etc. feels totally empty of fun and of any sense of accomplishement.

That's important, I can't repeat it enough. We want to play in a SFL even if drop rates are exactly the same !!

Too bad they don't see how good the ARPG element of their game is...

You mean like instant-gratification trading, where if you don't have X, you can buy it from others in a few seconds? :))

Or instant gratification partying, where you cant defeat X, you can pay someone to do it for you? :D

Yeah, PoE is a pretend hurrdurrcore you have been waiting you whole life for... casual
