You don't need ridiculous speed (although it IS good, I could use a Quillrain once I get better elemental mods on my jewelry and would out DPS most other builds in the game), but you should be aiming for 1.4 speed on your bows. There's eight or so bows that have at least that as their base attack speed, so you only need an attack speed mod if you're using a slower model of bow. If you use a Short/Grove/Thicket bow with 1.55 base attack speed, you literally only need to Transmute it, then Alteration it until you get a single good elemental roll and you should be rolling over mobs. If you can manage to find a high damage bow with good attack speed though, then go for it, but even then, Added Fire Damage won't give you as much damage as whatever you're replacing it with. So i finally reached 50 and can use my 5L armor, but blerh.
I'm using the 5L you recommended but my dps is only 500 with 6 stacks frenzy. My gear is not that great (need more life and ele damage), but still, with split arrow+loh+added fire damage (only 3l) my damage was about the same. Am i missing something here? On top of that the 5l costs me about 100life/shot (with 3 shots/ sec) where as the split arrow combo was not even half that. are the only items with ele damage, but still, can't see that adding a bit more ele damage would be that much more better (i would get the same benefit with split arrow). Any suggestions? You mentioned before that your dps was 2000. I'm obviously far from that :p Edit: so i tested it again, my new weapon with split+pierce+loh+weapon ele: 640 dps (with 6 stacks frenzy) at the cost of 44 life/shot Atm i can't really see the use of using: frenzy+gmp+loh+pierce+weapon elemental That or there is something not showing right on the dps-sheet (this is no criticism on your build, just some feedback, i'd like to hear what you think.
