Hello, unfortunately I cannot make an extensive reply at the moment but if I read the above posts all questions are answered in the guide.
Just a recap - RF damage mitigation is a mix of maximum fire resistance and life regeneration, combine both to sustain RF. Check the guide and calculation examples to get the hang of it - Increased aura effect applies to purity of fire and vitality - Increased buff effect applies to auras AND damage taken from RF AND NOT damage done by RF - In POE everything gets rounded down. +3.99% to maximum fire resistance is rounded down to +3% - Support gems for RF: concentrated effect, increased AOE, increased burning damage, empower. As far as I know nothing else works - RF doesn't proc cwdt - DOT damage applies to damage done by RF and NOT to damage taken form RF (updated guide for this as it was not in) - All other damage modifiers for RF are in the guide Cheers! Oh, one more thing (I'm still curious about the helmet (Hrimnor's Resolve) because I might be able to actually afford one by trading the regret orb I found ...
But Kaoms Chest ... +1000 (pre nerf) or +500 (current) HP ... I know it's not got any sockets (which I might be able to make work - pretty much stick to vit totem, enduring cry and flammability with the occasional leap) ... but if you could get together the like 120ex for it (1000HP one) ... then it must be amazing, right? Once it's gone through all the modifiers ... also adds to fire damage, lol ... " Wait, so Holy Strength is bad?? ... eg it's making me take more damage? ... Edit: and Inner Force (which someone mentioned was good for RF today when mapping) would be super bad ... (I went up more the left hand side anyway so am ignoring it) " So would heading towards growth and Decay (bottom right) be maybe a nice idea ... there's a 0.4% regen next to it, it regens 1% and add 18% DOT damage. (I already took the diamond flesh under golems blood, so I'm only 3 points away form putting things in there) ... maybe instead of purity of flesh (what I was originally intending to head towards and would be the same number of points sunk in). hi need big help here i dont know what im doing wrong.

" I didn't do all the maths on this (like I didn't check your regen % - lazy)... But, only an extra 2% max fire resist from Purity of fire isn't very good ... you want it at least at the point where it's giving 3% - eg level 17 (that's what I have now and I take a little damage constantly - cured with a vit totem or endurance charges giving regen) ... but really want gem level 20 (which is the same as 18 in a +2 fire gem slot) it'll give 4% max and I'll be fine (so you should be too)... ------------------------------------

all gear costs: shield : 1ex boots/gloves/helm = 3c each ring 5c each amulet = crafted supreme truth = 16c belt = 8 c carcass jack = 1 ex 5 c ( was 2s, crafted 6s with 20 jews ) belly of the beast = 1 ex 4 gcp and i did buy 19 lvl PoF cuz on 65 lvl it was just 16 lvl xD = 25chaos Running grace/PoF/vitality. Current armor with grace 7900. I can sustain RF without vitality atm< but still running with it, cuz it rly helps to fast heal, and i dont need purity of elements ( all rez 77, fire 90 ) Maybe later i will buy Alpha`s howl to run grace/determination/PoF swap for redbeaks and carcass jack every area ( like 3-5 sec for dat all ) How u can see i using cyclone with blind and heal ( it's proc EE, cuz i have light dmg on ring ) I can move in packs, healing, and blinding all ( it's rly help on hard bosses ) In plan change flammability to elemental weakness, cuz 20Q ele weakness have 57% rez ( flam 49% ) Need to change amulet,gloves,boots to armor/rez/moovspeed and ofc high hp, Atm 5150 ( on next lvl i ll get 18% hp so =5400 +/- ) Dont know what add, good build, just need good gear to up armor. I have a question if I have 5000 hp, How much damage i do per sec after your buff?

Updated guide with a level 65 base passive tree for going RF, included growth and decay and removed templar life regeneration and inner force last 2 passives (still need the first one to have 1.34% aura buff) and leveling guide.
Why do you need 1.34% aura buff? Because that boosts +3% maximum fire resistance from pof to 4%. 3 * 1.34 = 4.02 Cheers! My guides

" You need purity of fire at level 17, you have level 15. You can do that either by leveling the gem or putting it in a weapon with +2 to fire gems or +1 to gems and +1 to fire gems Next you need a total of 10.5% life regeneration, you will need to respec your tree to this: Tree Once you level the gems more you can respec out of growth and decay GL! Gears
For the gears I paid 1ex each on helmet, gloves and belt. 1ex and stack of chaos on shield. Stack of chaos on armor. 1chaos for weapon. All the rest are self found. On all items except helmet which I bought last I had to rework the sockets starting with jewelers orbs. I tried to make the BBBR on armor at first but after burning thru 80 chromes I figured that this is mission almost impossible. Helmet had BBBR ready. Another helmet which I was gonna buy first was in LINK Glyph Crown Samite Helmet but he didint come online for couple of days. Didint know if he would have sold it for 1ex either. Passives at lvl66 Defense at lvl66 Resistances are bit over cos I plan to get chaos res weapon maybe later. Also amulet needs to be replaces as I just ripped it off my other char in haste when lvling up. Maybe something with life, rarity, all res if needed and attributes(int/dex) that are needed. Might slap some yolo exalteds to that armor too. :) The build isnt self sustaining yet as I dont have the lvl20 pof effect yet. Despite all that I can run thru merciless piety without any problems. Think Im faster clearer than my lvl82 blender alrdy. Im not sure if I should go for more hp or the endurance charges in passive tree next. Im gonna skip purity of flesh as I dont need chaos res. Atm Im gonna go for MOAR HP after the last area of effect node. Any toughts? Tips for gemming? Flameblast isnt doing anything for me yet. :( Last edited by Hartsa on Jan 23, 2014, 8:01:14 PM

" Hello, nice gear! Definetly get chaos resistance if you can afford it as it helps a lot on chaos damage map bosses. BTW you can respec out inner force last 2 points (keep the first one for the 3% aura buff) and enforcer and get holy fire cluster for 60% increased burning damage, this will also lower the damage you take from RF. I would definetly go for more HP, endurance charges and armour (in gear). As for casting RF you can get carcass jack with RF in it and swap chests after casting RF. GL! My guides
