Pre-Release Alpha Changes - A Krippendium

I agree with Hilbert that I am confused at the constant nerfing on clarity. It's already near impossible to get greater mana per sec then you can spend it when using 4 or more support gems. Well depending on the skill itself but you get the point. Even with Battery it's still hard to get more mana regen per second then you can spend it.

Which is insanely odd, since that's what the keystone is all about.


The last Clarity nerf was too much IMO, gems like GMP are already priced out the market, now they get to fade into total obscurity for casters. Eldritch Battery Casters anyone?

Overall very pleased with what I have seen tonight, absolutely dying to play it now. It's gonna be a long 11 days.

Yeah I don't believe that, I highly doubt Tentative Keystone 126 is changing anytime soon ^^.


Believe it or not, that keystone was added just hours before Kripp started streaming. We hadn't even tested it for a day, it could be completely broken with the springleaf shield and they could remove it as a result.

CI/totems ALSO changed within the last 24 hours. It's highly unlikely the changes will be as they are in 10 days.

Many builds don't have the skillpoints/the possibility to take it and taking 3-5 mana nodes or 3 reduced cost nodes doesn't make a big difference.


Non ES builds also don't make profit from it.
There are 30 Life nodes but where are 30 mana nodes?
Most builds that get too high multipliers end up in using blood magic or a blood magic gem.


EB should be designed to run an Aurabased build.
Not to cover insane mana costs.


If you look at other rpgs there are many ways to cover mana costs even it's just inventory management. You never end up equipping a good item and being able to attack 1-3 times.

Only PoE got that problem, while it's positive the devs want the game to be different there shouldn't be negative aspects that make it different.

Springleaf is on low life, CI can never be low life. I don't see how that could be broken. As for Low Life + ES builds without CI... I think low those builds are risky enough considering chaos damage will still wreck you.

I completely disagree with you here. Disc alone becomes free max mana and regen if you take EB. Even more so if you get the Inner Force cluster. Granted this might not be worth the travel for every class but something like the Templar or Shadow can easily get it then focus on pure armour or evasion gear. Plus when you are not focusing on ES, any ES mod on gear can be pretty worthless, EB would turn them into useful mana mods.

When I look at the drawback of EB, my gut interpretation is this, kill shit before it can come close.

Now, whether or not my interpretation is incorrect is debatable. However, I think it would be a.great drawback to be able.to use a 6L without using mana leech.

That's basically all I'm getting at.

The issue is, even with extensive investment in mana/mana regen, with clarity and everything possible, it is still nearly impossible to sustain your mana costs at 5-6l.

I COULD give up several item affix slots, a dozen or two passives, OR I could slot in a mana leech or blood magic gem.
