Because there is cold and lightning damage on a ring that proc -fire res and since rf doesn't proc ee it doesn't throw off the negative resist modifiers
Obviously O.o

Thanks. And about your question, Culling Strike isn't triggered by RF either, from what I have been able to read. CS is an on-hit effect, and RS never hits (same as with EE btw :) )

Unfortunately that doesn't answer your question on WHY it is being used in this build.

Culling strike also provides increased dmg on linked gems, maybe that's why?

Culling strike was on the chain to be leveled. It doesn't interact with RF in any way. I wanted a leveled culling strike for my MF set.

Oh ok, so 4l searing touch is pretty much fine then. Thanks for the answers.
How's Belly of the Beast for the poor people?
Can anybody explain to me how you're supposed to survive 90% life per second degen?

Easily..
You lose 90% of HP + 70% of ES AS FIRE DAMAGE. And that's the key.

With 77% Maxed Fire Resist from normal gear
+
With Rise of the Phoenix giving you +8% Maximum Fire Res
+
WIth Elemental Adaptation giving you another +2% to Maximum Fire Res
+
With Purity of Fire Gem at level 17+ giving you +3% Maximum Fire Res
+
With 28% Aura Effect
+
With Ruby Flask giving you another +10% Maximum Fire Res

BRINGS YOU TO 98% Fire Res!
When Purity of Fire hits level 20 - You will have 100% Fire Res!

Obviously we take A LOT of nodes to have EXTREMELY high Life Regan.
And you're also using Vitality which boost your HP regan by a ton.

If I demonstrate it on my character (Calculation time!):
I have 5,683 Life, 121 Energy Shield, 615 Life Regan (level 17 Vitality).
90% out of 5,683 = 5,114.7 Life LOST per second
70% out of 121 = 84.7 Life LOST per second

Combined HP lost per second: 5,199.4

But wait.. It's fire damage.. And we have resistance for it!

With 88% Fire Res (Purity of Fire level 17-19, Before Flask Used):
5,199.4*0.12 = 623.928 Life Lost per second.
623.928 - 615 = 8.928 Life lost per second.
Just 9HP lost per second!

With 90% Fire Res (Purity of Fire level 20, Before Flask Used):
5,199.4*0.10 = 519.94 Life Lost per second.
519.94 - 615 = 95.06 Life GAINED per second.
You actually start gaining a lot of HP once your gem hits level 20.

With 98% Fire Res (Purity of Fire level 17-19,Before Flask Used):
5,199.4*0.02 = 103.988 Life Lost per second.
103.988 - 615 = 511.012 Life GAINED per second.
As you can see, this Potion is actually used as a regular HP potion.
Giving you a lot of regan.

With 100% Fire Res (Purity of Fire level 17-19,Before Flask Used):
Well.. Just 615 life per second.. No damage taken!

Oh, and how could I forget??
We also use Cyclone which allows us to gain ADDITIONAL life for each enemy we hit.
A level 20 Life Gain on Hit gem will get you +44 Life on hit which is A LOT!

Hope it clears things for you :)

belly is ok imo, if you find 95+ hp with 30 ish str chest and 1K+ armor you will be fine. It doesn't really need resists on it but shooting for an astral wont hurt. The reason i like NOT using belly is because of the low armor. my chest right now has 95 hp 20 str 2200 armor 5 life regen per second and its an astral. Got it for around 8 chaos on nemesis so you can hunt for cheap good gear because you are not held down by getting 30+ res since you rock aurumvorax.

Hello!

I have a hard question, maybe U have teh answer (i hope it) :)
So If my cyclone have Phys/FIRE/cold/chaos damage too, how it will works with EE?
It will make +25% fire/cold/chaos res and - 50% just for light, or it will make just -25% from one of them, and - 50% to the others? So, will this help my RF?:)
