Dont think Fire Pen works with RF...

Also, take a look at using supreme truth as your main hand weapon. If you link empower, purity of fire in it, you will get a lvl23 purity of fire, allowing you to have 91% fire res. It will also give 40% elemental damage potentially freeing up a few passive points that you might have allocated to fire dmg allowing you to get more hp or str etc.

Fire Pen's resistance does indeed not work, because it's an on-hit effect. What's still a mystery though is if the 10% damage from a 20 quality Fire Pen would work.

I use a 5L Searing, with RF+Support gems(I currently use Culling as fifth, in the hope the %dmg works)
For aura's I run a Geofri's crest, lvl 2 Empower+Reduced mana+Purity+Vitality.
As armor I run a 6 Socketed, 4L+2L, Belly of the beast. I put CwDT+Enduring+Immortal+Molten in the 4L, Reduced mana+Grace in the 2L.
In my Aurumvorax I run leapslam+support gems.
In my gloves I run Curse+Totem+Blood magic+Reduced mana.
In my Blood dances I run cyclone+support gems.
In my Phoenix I run Fireblast+Blood Magic+Iron will.
Running 2 coral rings, 1 with +% fire damage and high life, and # cold dmg for EE. Other with high life and # lightning dmg for EE. I proc EE with Cyclone/leap slam.
My amulet has all stats roll, % fire damage and high life roll.
Still seeking upgrades the amulet and ring though, and perhaps my gloves(high life roll and chaos resi)
Mainly looking to get a % fire damage/high life roll on an Agate Amulet.

I mainly use geofri's crest because Alpha's howl is way more expensive, but also because mine has a +29% chaos roll, and roughly 18% each ele roll. To run 3 aura's with Geofri's, 2 of which with empower, I'd have to put 1 skillpoint in a 4% reduced mana node.

I am still curious how cyclone activates EE.

u just need to get + x to x cold or lightning damage on 1 of your items...
