What is the formula for critical strike %
Thank you sir.

Looking at the math with wickedhood on ts atm, and your current crit formula is absolutely absurd. If you have a REASON for it being like it is, fine, but I sure dont see one. I know you said "dont read into it too much" but the fact that it even started out so ridiculous is worrisome. PLEASE make it realistic.
- Level penalty is less severe as you level up, should be the exact opposite. Not only does this make being in a slightly above your level zone stupid hard at very low levels, it makes the difference between lvl 99 and lvl 100 virtually nil, giving no incentive to continue leveling. Was one of the bigger problems in Diablo II; I know many many people that got to lvl 90ish and quit the game never to play again. - 5% automatic and 3% base make it even less tempting to get crit at all. Nerf caster orbs buff crit rating nerf static nova HARD and you'll have yourselves a completed witch class. Edit: Sorry for the tone of my post, but you can imagine my frustration. Edit2: wrong maths, same idea though Last edited by isatinygod#5989 on Sep 8, 2011, 12:57:16 AM

Low levels you don't need crits. You dont want them as much in Pvp as then it just becomes RNG as you all have low hp and little methods of defense.
Nothing wrong with the formula just increase crit rating itemization slightly. However at level 50 I see rings etc with 100+ crit rating on them. That's 0.04% which isn't great but its not pointless. Compared to %spell damage etc though the stat could use some help. However I will agree that the passive talents that add +23-60ish crit rating now seem incredibly poor at higher levels. These along with the +mana value need to be altered into percentage of some kind. 1-3% increase in total mana/crit might work. |

" Please tell me its not that and instead " Edit: When I gain 1 orb I have a 6.3% crit chance. that means that I have an innate .3% crit chance due to the 3% base crit 0.057098 which means I should have an innate 6% crit all the time. Check your math bro. I have 109 CR. level 36 in a level 36 zone... http://arenaharmony.com/crit.php The purpose of argument should not be victory, but progress. znowstorm - No. To everything you said.

Also the 4% to crit rating passives.. LOL I have just over 100 crit rating at lvl 39, so
+4 CRIT RATING TROLOLOLOL |

" So you disagree that +62 crit rating is poor at high levels...interesting. In any case its nice to see you articulating yourself. |

I adjusted my post to put the correct brackets in.
The crit formula works the way we intend it to. The crit values from passives (and mods) are not well balanced at the moment and will be sorted out when we do our big upcoming rebalance. It's very likely after the rebalance that there won't be +crit rating values in the passive tree (instead being entirely percentage based ones). | |
" Here here :) |

Okay well that's exactly what I have here.
http://arenaharmony.com/crit.php The crit shows wrong in the game, or is actually wrong and shows correctly. The purpose of argument should not be victory, but progress.
