What is the formula for critical strike %

So the wand critical rating doesn't add to spell critical rating ?
So it's basically exactly the same thing to use a level 10 wand and a level 60 one ? That seems completely flawed ...

You should do something about that, be it damage wise, crit wise or cast speed wise.

As I said earlier, spell crit chance is different to regular crit chance. Spell crit chance it not shown on the character sheet.

Power orbs add 3% to crit chance.
Crit chance cannot be lower than 5%.

62 Crit rating at level 36 = 3.3% crit chance
Since it is lower than 5%, it gets set to 5%.

With a power orb, 3.3 + 3 = 6.3%
This is not lower than 5%. So it doesn't get changed.

Based on the fact that he has 6.3% crit chance with one power orb at level 36, his crit rating is either 61 or 62.

All weapons have a base Critical Strike rating listed on them. This only affects your chance to critical for attacks made with that weapon. It does not affect your chance to critical with a spell.

However any +crit rating magic mods on the weapon will affect it.

this is where the .03 % comes from apparently. Where does the base 3% come from?

63 / ( 63 + ( 36 * 50 ) ) = 0.033

0.033 = 3.3% Chance

It's different when you actually attack with the wand.

But i second that ... a melee char wielding a weapon would get the bonus on that item if he uses skills and a caster using skills (casting something) is not using his weapon if he does not use the auto-attack cast or hits something directly with it ?

Frenzy works with wands. Haven't investigated much else.
