[1.1.0] Ghore's Immortal Incinerate Regen Tank (EB + Mind over Matter/Max Block/Max AA)
Can someone explain something to a newbie here? Since alot of builds like this can not be dont leveling up and you need the points up front since you can not completely respec how do you do this?
Im new to the game and I see alot of builds I would like to use but the way there trees are worked out leveling up in that build would be horrible. |

" You can level up to mid 50s or so with pretty much any build using either Freezing Pulse or Cleave/DoubleStrike. Even with no damage from the tree stuff will die reasonably fast. Most caster builds will use Freezing Pulse but with a build like this you could use FP or go melee until you feel that you have enough regen to sustain Incinerate. Feel free to add me in game if you need any help, whether it pertains to this build or PoE in general. I am always willing to help out new players in any way that I can. No matter how simple or complex the question may be: I'll do my best. Hope this helps a bit. " As far as the time to switch goes I feel the best is whenever you are able to get enough mana regen to sustain casting atleast a 4 link Incinerate, you can also use either mana leech or mana potions still at this point. Depending on the league and how your gear situation is I would probably have to guess somewhere in the 50s for most people and 60s for some. question about Gear choice
Do we prefer Armour + ES gear over pure Armour gear ? or balance it ?? |
|
Thanks for answering Van.
I'm on Domination and there are zero Rathpith available right now. I know it's pretty big in the build. What can I use instead of Rathpith and will it ruin the build? IGN: Imbirs

" Finding the right balance of armor and ES on your gear is pretty tricky. The chest I would definitely recommend a good armor/es, mostly for colors. But the rest it comes down to what you can find the best pieces of. I would say that you want atleast one piece of pure armour with a nice armour roll and the rest to be armor/es, ideally. " The best substitute is using a high spell block roll rainbowstrides and a really nice rare armor/es hybrid. Having atleast one item with spellblock will really go a long a way with extra survivability from the anvil proc and TS leech. IGN: Ghured

you lose the body and soul notable cluster but you gain dual curse (more then makes up for slight tooltip dps loss) + 16% less mana reserved (which makes up for body and soul mana loss and reserves less on you life with BM clarity) also + 3 endurance charges which are extremely strong and im not sure why you left them out on a tank build you have slightly less dps because it starts as mara but it would only be around 100-200 tooltip dps, incinerate over 1k is fine from playing with my 83 mara And rainbow strides could make better boots for huge mana boost + more spell block, you lose a bit of life but the spell block makes up for that, the most dangerous monsters will be spell casters This is what my mara uses in incinerate (life based build i made before 1.0.0) Last edited by DutchRudder#4293 on Nov 10, 2013, 5:07:02 PM

also if you wanted to make this build truly insanely tanky, use lightning coil and purity to get your light res up to 79%
that way you mitigate so much damage from 3 sources mind over matter: 30% lightning coil: 40% 7 endurance charges: 28% then add in your block + spell block and life leech + life on hit from incinerate and you really would be immortal lol only problem is getting the right colours on lightning coil and you would need to go iron reflexes (only 4 extra points) |

" There isn't much difference from my mara and my templar tree... The body and soul nodes give a lot of armor% which helps out a lot but also gives us more mana. It's a better route to take than to get reduced mana in the tree, Cause all the reduced mana is going to do is reduced the amount of mana the auras take. Whereas the B&S cluster gives you overall more mana which means overall more potential mitigation with MoM. The B&S cluster also allows any ES on gear to scale even better, especially on a shield. It's mostly for regen, to be able to sustain a high or maxed out Artic Armour. I don't solo so I really feel like getting dual curse on a build that isn't explicitly a support build, or a penta curses, to be mostly a waste. For solo play it could be helpful but in a group I feel like it won't bring much to the table while cutting your survivability some. I was running 6 endurance charges for awhile but dropped it down to 4 after I incorporated the Immortal Flesh unique leather belt. Since it makes a build like this mostly immune to physical damage the endurance charges don't really do much and the points are better spent elsewhere. They are a good idea to grab if you aren't yet or don't want to run Immortal Flesh, but mostly redundant with its massive physical damage reduction. Are you using cybils paw? Having to run Life Leech in Incinerate at all times isn't really ideal, espcially if you have a 6L. IGN: Ghured Last edited by Vandalain#2745 on Nov 10, 2013, 5:21:15 PM

" I really feel like Lightning Coil was a good idea on paper but in practice it's awful for melee. The benefits of running a lightning coil do not outweight the drawbacks for a melee build...Having to run purity is a waste, as any build should be able to get overcapped on res through items alone and the +max res is hardly anything anymore since it's been nerfed so many times. The defensive stats would mostly be wasted as well aside from the ES. The 4 extra points to get Iron Reflexes would have to come from other important places in the tree as this is a fairly tight build in terms of points. You also wouldn't be able to run an Immortal Flesh with a Lightning Coil. I feel that IF gives a large amount of benefits with little to no drawbacks with a build like this. Immortal Flesh accomplishes everything that running a lightning coil does but has far less drawbacks, for a melee build. IGN: Ghured Last edited by Vandalain#2745 on Nov 13, 2013, 6:11:27 AM
