how about a little patience?

how about we tell them what we think and why before the final version is in front of us in game? It would be a bit late in the day to point out whats wrong at that stage.

A guy back there posted a bow marauder going through to the ranger side and getting Iron Grip, hes completely buggered now. Thats not specific, was he going to do lightning arrow lmp chain and get static blows? Was he going freeze arrow? split arrow? RoA and down to get point blank? Was he going for Iron Reflexes or was he going to take Guile and Acrobatics with full evasion? Perhapse hes going es and up to the shadow from the ranger... no, it doesnt matter what he was doing, 100s of potential build variations and you can cut them out in the first line when I said going through the middle to get iron grip.

Witch/shadow taking ci and vaal pact... stop right there, I could be talking about 100s of builds, spell casters, melee, shield blockers, evaders, armour tanks, bow users, no all of them would be gone. That entire line of possible builds and gem setups and intricacies, gone. You can do it as the new class, if you want to go through those melee nodes to get vaal pact, and then projectile nodes to get out the left, and then life or mana to get out the right... now we are talking about being pushed into spending twice the points on specific nodes to get things that are potentially being used by literally anyone doing anything atm. That tree is so far off supporting the current diversity we have that for it to ever exist is seriously worrying and I think it needs pointed out right now with as much time to change it as possible.

Good luck with Vaal Pact on your witch or shadow.
Necromantic Aegis on a templar? Prepare to spend a shitload of points.
Every "non standard" or hybrid build will be a Scion.

Increasing Number of "combination" builds by decreasing versatility of Character choice?
I think that was a bad decision!
Why not just keep the roundabout? It would make no difference to a scion ...

this guy is right, why no roundabout? The only difference it makes to a scion is that theres far less reason to make one if you can move around the tree with the other classes. To me it looks like they just obliterated the possibilities of the 6 classes to give people a reason to use the new one, and in doing so will be dragged into the build specific nodes to move around problem that GGG themselves said they designed the tree to stop. Alarm bells are ringing imo, whoever made that tree intentionally removed the roundabout. That needs pointed out now as it speaks of a fundamental design decision that massively effects the diversity, not in 3 weeks when we log on and find the entire concept behind a lot of our characters has been wiped out and that whole area of builds for those classes is now gone. What then? Make these same posts and sit on our respecs for 4 months while GGG dont say if theyre changing it back or not? No thanks.

I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)

WTF am I suppose to do with the respec? I am playing Mara LA ELE. All my gear supports ranged play-style. With this new talent tree, all build-defining talents are unreachable.

Any suggestions, how to bulid a Mara as a bow-user with this new talent tree?

How could we come up with suggestions on how to build a Mara as a bow-user, when we know exactly the same things, that you know about the passivtree at the release. All you and we have seen is a snapshot taken for the promotiontour.
It has been said, that the final tree may not even look close to the one shown in the video.

Cool down and wait for the complete patchnotes, maybe they put a picture of the final passivtree in the notes, so that you can come up with a build ahead, if not we have to wait until the patch is done and the servers have restarted.

The roundabout was indeed a very nice thing. For builds that want to travel to the opposite side of the tree - will now have to take the outer roundabout (way more skillpoints), but hey lets see what they come up with. The demonstration might be an early version of the new tree.

I did tell that guy to use the Iron grip support gem. That thing was made just for that situation, can't get the keystone - slap support on. Nobody used the support? That's because anyone could get the keystone easily.

And don't count on even wanting to get vaal pact with your witch. The whole game is getting a rehaul, not just passive tree shape, GR+VP will probably be one of first combos that will get the boot. You're basing your complains on smoke and mirrors.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

oh ya, forgot about the support, he can use the supports for all the stuff on the ranger side he was moving over to as well... oh no thats right, he cant, its not just the keystone, its everything on the other side of the tree you were going to past that keystone.

Of course I want vaal pact on my witch, shes an es dagger melee, yeah lets just boot that entire concept of an es melee for witch and shadow out of the park because you said so. Thats not smoke and mirrors? Im posting legitimate points and what are you posting? Some vague assumption that GGG want to completely destroy all es melee using vp and gr and should do so? You dont have a point and now you are just making up assumptions based on nothing that somehow speak against points I have made based on solid stuff we can see in a video? I dont think Im the one throwing hot air around here mate, you are the one making baseless assumptions.

I don't see what all the big fuss is about. Stuff like this is going to change, builds are going to change, hard decisions are going to have to be made, and I have little issue with it. The skill tree underwent drastic changes before and this will be another one and it most certainly isn't going to be the final product. That and players have gotten a bit too spoiled and comfortable with having quite a few toys at their disposal and not having to really sit down and make hard decisions and this change might also open up more gem diversity and things seen in builds beyond just cramming every DPS gaining support gem onto a skill and grabbing any 'free' Keystones for more.

I think also that the devs are beginning to realize that the skilldrassil tree can only be so successful and that cutting out some potential diversity isn't a bad thing. It was a grand goal to give players such extreme freedoms, but in the end I think they're starting to see that one major drawback is that despite having all these classes, the classes might as well not exist. There needs to be some structure and restrictions as to what each one is capable of, and it's no easy task to also give said classes enough freedom to diversify while not feeling locked in.

I do see the concerns with the Scion potentially being the best choice on the surface, but I am not so sure she'll be the best for everything. Would rater wait to see more changes before crying foul, though nothing wrong with voicing potential worries in a constructive manner.
So they removed the only thing that was fun in the game (making lots of builds with different characters that Actually worked)?
i like this game. i mean have you seen how powerful is the barbarian
This is pretty bad.

But as it isn't final, it just might be bad.

So, at the moment, it can't be bad.

Yet :/
Casually casual.

I like the new tree. Waiting to until I use it to judge.
