You can't control all the money supply in IRL, because it's endless.

You can easily control orb supply in POE.
If it was actually so easy, everyone would be doing it. At the absolute minimum, it's very difficult.

I also question whether it is in fact going on. For example, how many Exalted Orbs actually exist currently in, say, Standard League? My rough guess is around twenty thousand, in which case being able to move around 3000 might have some impact on the economy, but far less than what could be termed "control." At a minimum, the 1000+ Exalts crowd would have to work together to exert control over the economy, which might not be something they're willing to do.
When Stephen Colbert was killed by HYDRA's Project Insight in 2014, the comedy world lost a hero. Since his life model decoy isn't up to the task, please do not mistake my performance as political discussion. I'm just doing what Steve would have wanted.

I tried all this before but I just can't morally scam people by flipping items so therefore I will never be a successful capitalist :(

That raises one question. Why does someone need 3000+ exalted orbs in POE?

Ok, let me rephrase. It's a lot easier for an individual or a group of individuals to control orb supply in POE than money supply in real world.

I can't get your point.
Once again : these ppl are rich not because of self found drops, but because of playing a trade simulator. They play a different game. Why?
- because they are tired of playing the game as we know it and prefer playing the tycoons
- because they are involved in RMT as sellers, and consider trading as a job, for cash
- .....................(who knows)
I don't know how and when thousands of different people accumulated their initial capital.
But I know something else : even if you had your lucky drop, even if not thunders, but shav, even if you had your lategame attempt, secured by currency, several weeks later you would be as poor as you started. Believe me or not.

Your missing my point, its that without that one great drop you can't AFFORD to play this trading game. I have literally solo'd every map, yes i now know thats a horrible idea, and never found that one great drop. I never had more then 1 eternal and 3 ex at any given time, and that was required for maps more or less. NOW, if i got lucky and found a soul taker early on i could have had those 20 exs and potentially turned them into 100 exs.....BUT I NEVER GOT THAT DROP.

Op says things like oh, buy this shavs for 25 and sell it for 30 exs WHEN VERY FEW PEOPLE CAN AFFORD TO DO THAT IN THE FIRST PLACE.....NEVER MIND THE FACT THAT YOU MIGHT WANT TO USE IT. You can play this game fi you dont spend currency on maps, even with just a few exs. That would require you to NOT BUY YOUR OWN GEAR OR TRY AND PROGRESS IN MAPS. lIKELY WOULD require 10's of hundereds of hours to really do it. Or.....

you can get lucky once every 35 maps and find a great unique that sells for 25 ex, all the while progressing and feeling like your not wasting your time. NOTHING WILL EVER BEAT BEING LUCKY......EVER

this is the truth in all games with trading in them, be it with action house or without, and this is why i hate trading so much
---------------------------------------
i remember doing something similar in world of warcraft, getting potions from vendor and selling them at higher price at ah, or just going in to action house buying and selling stuff. This is the same thing (without using gold) and for some people is like addiction to get more and more of the virtual non-existant currency. I just can't do it, i would rather farm all day than trade all day

.........................................................

in 21 played days i have already got

but think about it if i was trading all day, i bet i could have gathered over 200 exalts
