No, it's not like in real life. Nowadays economies are using so-called fiat-money and central banks to control the supply and demand of the money.

ARPG game economy is more similar to gold standard monetary system. And this system eventually failed.

No, it's not like in real life. Nowadays economies are using so-called fiat-money and central banks to control the supply and demand of the money.

ARPG game economy is more similar to gold standard monetary system. And this system eventually failed.

It is like real life. There are people with thousands of orbs and they very much manipulate the currency system. Do you think that a person with 1,000+ exalted orbs can't completely influence the market? All he has to do is flood the market with a single type of currency to temporarily devalue that currency against other rates. Also, the Salesman outearns the producer (guy farming the orbs, as per my earlier example.)

RIP Nokia But let's take it as an example :


Nokia 90000 V1 : 300€
Nokia 89000 V1 : 240€
Nokia 90000 V2 : 350€
Nokia 95000 V1 : 800€



...

a few years later

Nokia 90000 V1/V2 : 50-100€
Nokia 95000 V1 : 50-100€


Now we have that awesome Nokia with rotative cam and 60Billion quality Photo :

i started anarchy 2 months in. i did trading, magic finding and all that and i got myself the character i want but i don't believe you get filthy rich by playing legit.

at most, i had 20 exa and couple hundred chaos. i don't believe you can amass 1k+ exa by playing legit 5-6h/day. i have friends that roll high lvl maps all the time. they spending exa like it's nothing. i love it that i can play with them but i do not believe they made that wealth legit.

now i don't care if some ppl spend real money for currency. i'm just annoyied at ppl claiming you can get exa in the thousand only by playing the game and trading.

the OP's post is very informative but don't be delusional thinking you'll have 1k pure exa by following those steps.

2 questions :

1) No, they play 24/24H
2) If they did not make their wealth legit, who made that wealth first time ? I mean if you can buy it how the hell can you buy something you don't have ?
Someone must create that wealth right ?

I never said you will make 1K+.. followming my steps.


As an example : i stopped plyaing/leveling at level 71 and i made, if we calculate all the gg uniques i have aswell, like ONLY 200EX, i was very poor..

What if i was playing maps level 76-77 and was selling a maps level 77 from time to time for 3-4 ?
Or dropping a shav/gg rare/gg uniques from time to time ?

OR crafting..

That's how you make 1.5K+EX

Here's a thought. Get into 75/76 map runs. Pick up rares and white rings/amulets/belts. You know that chaos recipe? It gives regals when the items are i75+. Alc the accessories, sell the good ones, get regals off the rest.

True, but that is why we have fiat-money and central banking system in real life. So that richest people in the world can't completely influence and manipulate the market.

You can't control all the money supply in IRL, because it's endless.

You can easily control orb supply in POE.
