Self-Found (League) [Thread outdated!]
" Very simple answer from my point of view. Standard league with trading = every single item, gem, weapon etc you want is available by either grinding for currency or by ignoring the hack n' slash and just playing the trading game to make currency. The thread with the trader with 3000 exalts just proves how much of an advantage trading gives SFL with no trading = Increased drops does not mean every single item, gem etc in the game will drop for you. You might never find that item or gem for a specific build. Trading = everything available... SFL if it doesn't drop you will never see it. Trading = Vastly easier than self found. Finally I think self found helps keep people (who enjoy self found) playing longer as you get a good drop your current char cannot use, you can roll another char later. Also without a self found GGG are currently losing players and financial support, because those who enjoy self found and hate playing the economic trading game, some have already stopped playing and supporting GGG. Just to put my 2 pence in,
I have been playing PoE now for just over 2 years as far as I can remember. I have ALWAYS played Hardcore (in Onslaught at the minute) self-found, never traded or played in a party. This, in my eyes provides me with the greatest challenge and makes EVERYTHING I do very important, even pausing to look at ilvl of items on some juicy 4 linked pair of gloves and keeping them for later on another character. I will however help some peeps if they are stuck on bosses in normal or cruel for free if im winding down of an evening, not taking any loot or payment at all :) It is important to mention that I NEVER have IIQ or IIR on any of my items as I would rather survive!!! I have only to date, since open bate, found 2 exaulteds, the last one literally the other day. I never have any crafting materials but when I save up a few (6-7 alchs and a couple of chaos) I then craft my own items. This makes essentially an Exaulted as valuable as a scouring to me. The drops are extremely good, I have no R or Q bonuses, its just a case of patience. I found my second ever exaulted in the Pyramid in Merciless being 10 levels above it, Lvl 70. Yesterday I crafted the best chest I have ever crafted: Its only 4 link 5 socket BUT I managed to get (with my final scouring and alch the following ;D...... Hate Shell Astral Plate 1922 Armour (ilvl 63, lvl 62 to use)....I was lvl 64. 306 Armour, 97% increased Armour, 56 Life, 19 Lightning Res....... I then had a think after discussing with global for about a day and decided to Exault it with my only exault.... It then added 25% Chaos res which I desperately needed!!!!! &DDDD I still haven't got over it ¦DDD I then found my second ever exault :).....All of this provided just by the game. Bare in mind that this is the highest character I have managed to get since open beta and have yet to do maps!!! Im soooo looking forward to the challenges ahead of me and THIS is why I, quite literally love this game. You can play it in so many ways and the way you want UNLIKE MANY other games where WE as gamers get played by the game. GG GGG for life! PS. Kiwi Hulk and Witch are clapping as I type this ;) PPS. I agree on something and disagree on one
- SFL = Huge hapiness playing the game and droping that gem you were waiting for - Trading is hard! Yet it make the game easier.. right, SO trading is hard and trading makes the game easy ( the guy with 3000ex+ might have never done a shrine map who know, yet he can get EVERYTHING from the game) It's my case on anarchy : i did not do high maps yet i can buy anything ( not all at once but i can almost buy ANY item. if i wanted ) So yeah i agree and see your points BUT PLEASE : TRADING is NOT EASY to do ! Okay ? have you ever tried to trade and succeeded ? If you want to suggest to replace the difficulty of trading with another ( playing the game ) well we might agree, maybe.
