Self-Found (League) [Thread outdated!]

So, in short, GGG feels that keeping the game a grind and having a handful of no lifers is the way to go. Well, that's not me.

I keep checking the updates hoping something will spark my interest. I tell ya, if there was an auction house I'd play this game a lot more. I just hate the current trading system. I hated it in D2 too.

Wug? wug??

you guys do realize the dev said its not going to happen so all this arguing is pointless. Just let it go. Move on already.

Not quite true. In an email from Chris - you can find the post in the The Self Found League thread - he said:

Hi there,

I'm intending to update the manifesto when I get time, so I apologise for sending a non-public answer via email. The short answer is that custom leagues are in the pipeline and that I have some serious design problems with most of the "self-found" league suggestions that we've been given so far. We'll post more info once it's ready!

Kind regards,
Chris

I updated the other suggestion corner with a rather creative,
alternative suggestion from the Self-Found Megathread.

SFL Temporary league 4months at the end all players characters and items are erased. How about it GGG?...

I personally love to invest lots of time into characters just to have them deleted. How bout a self-found league that feeds into Standard League when characters enter Mercilles 'The Sceptre of God', and if you want to stay in the self-found league, just don't enter 'The Sceptre'? This type of setup would allow (force) players to have a complete self-found run-through of the primary game content and allow players to choose to stay in a non-trade environment or enter a trade environment if/when they want to. That being said, I don't really care whether or not a SFL happens.

So create a new SFL league with enhanced drop rates and then let people transfer to Standard with its parsimonious drop rates? Doesn't sound very promising to me.

I play 90% solo and largely self found and would much rather GGG spend its development resources on making crafting and solo play more rewarding in the actual game as it exists now rather than spend it on coming up with a different league with narrower aims.
The answer is a SFL with Void as the parent league.
Crafting doesn't exist in POE. Gambling does...and the house always wins.

dessloc, I totally agree with your bolded statement above, and thank you for pointing out the flaw in my 'transfer to Standard' idea without including any constructive criticism.
TY to those who called me out on my BS on these forums. There is no benefit to being so selfish as to fail to acknowledge others' differing beliefs of what "should be" or believe your own opinions so supreme as to be factual and thus dismiss others' opinions as being somehow a lie or delusional.
Make Self found league a permanent paid league then.

Recursive agree.
Hi

The only thing harsh about wraeclast is its RNG and lack of solo player incentives.

+1SFL

Well, wanting that ALL OTHER PLAYERS who participate on the league to also be obligated to play self found, sounds a bit too selfish.

the sheer fact that you can play self found in ANY league in the game, makes for a pretty good counter argument. Why spend game developing time over this "self found league" idea when anyone who wishes to take part in such scenario can already do so.

Can I have a unique league too? a league where only uniques can be used?

would be fun to have 560950490574947 types of leagues, but self found is just too specific.
Ask yourselves this question?

Does having a self found league affect you? Does racing affect you? What is the difference? Hardcore and Onslaught doesn't affect me. The current state of the leagues affect my gameplay. I would LOVE sfl.
