Self-Found (League) [Thread outdated!]
" Thanks for the feedback. I will add it to the feedback packet accordingly once the page is full and no other more detailed feedback makes it appearance. I updated the other suggestion corner with a rather creative, alternative suggestion from the Self-Found Megathread. " I am rather occupied for the rest of the day. Stay classy, guys and gals. |

I would love SFL. I don't think it will ever happen. :(
Crafting doesn't exist in POE. Gambling does...and the house always wins.
Velocireptile - I LOL'ed. Which made me fart. I wish the office were empty right now :( Hardlicker - I had to push the dog out of the way so I could get to the sexy quilt. |

" DO YOU REMEMBER THE GUY WHO QUIT? ME NEITHER. NOW BUMP ON THE THREAD ^^ i like this game. i mean have you seen how powerful is the barbarian

Hi everybody
Don't forget to bump the SFL suggestions thread also. SFL:1)No trading with other players.2)No loot allocation timer(what drops for you stays yours), No benefits from party besides monsters being stronger.3) No mf rolls on blue or yellow items.4) Increased orb drops NOT items. -SFl 4 month temporary league at the end all your equipment is erased. Kellog "Does account bound mean stash only accessible to your SFL characters? bump 1+ cheers Conan: Crush your enemies. See them driven before you. Hear the lamentations of their women.
Never dance with the Devil because a dance with the Devil could last you forever... -I thought what I'd do was,I'd Pretend I was one of those deaf mutes- Nullus Anxietas:) |

Why bother with a new league? Just get the balance right so one can play self- found by choice and never bother about trading or partying.
Trading and partying is close to impossible anyway with current size of the population in HC. I don't care about competition. I would much more prefer to be able to experience the full scale of the game without dying to the same shit because of item requirement's that I just can't meet by grinding. cheers |

you guys do realize the dev said its not going to happen so all this arguing is pointless. Just let it go. Move on already.

" MMMH, This is just not true. In an SFL environment, drop rates can be significantly increased without reducing the "difficulty" of the game in any way. A fact GGG are surely well aware of. In fact, I can easily imagine a scenario in which an SF League is created with substantially increased drop rates, yet still has to be placed at least one tier above Standard League to make sure no one ends up playing there by mistake under the impression that it is the "easy" mode. To facilitate the explanation, lets use a simple imaginary model: Your objective is to create a 6L chest piece in as few hours as possible. There is only one currency: Fusings. All "good for iLvl" Rares are vendor-able on SF for 0.1 Fusing All "good for iLvl" Rares are tradable on Standard for 3 Fusings All Uniques are vendor-able on SF for 0.1 Fusings All Uniques are tradable on Standard for 10 Fusings. 1 Fusing drops every hour. 1 "good for iLvl" rare drops every 2 hours. 1 Unique drops every 10 hours A 6L Chest can be obtained via Gambling or Trading for 1500 Fusings. If you play the game in the most efficient way possible (trading or vendoring all your valuable drops), the results are: Standard League: 35 Fusings/Hr = 428h to obtain your 6L Chest Self Found League: 1.06 Fusings/Hr = 1415h to obtain your 6L Chest. So, with this model, we could multiply the drop rate by 3 and *it would still be a tougher league than Standard* We can debate the accuracy of these particular numbers, but it's hardly worth it: the only thing we would be arguing about is by what exact multiple the drop chance could be fairly increased - and GGG already have that data. Related Info and Feedback: I have a time intensive job. PoE is the first game I have sunk any serious hours into since Ultima Online and D2 (offline). In my books, that makes it pretty good. I am not a "sociable" gamer, but I am competitive. At least in the sense that I like to see what is achievable and then try to get to that point myself. I enjoyed levelling my char through Normal and Cruel because it was a discovery - and because it had some tough challenges. I really began to enjoy Merciless because it was tougher still but also getting close to end-game loot and end-game specs: make-or-break time for any "let's just try this" build. I am now L80+ (can't recall right now) and I am beginning to believe that it is time to accept that as a solo SF player, end-game means having done one L73 map. Not because the mobs and bosses are tough as nails(good), not because gear is hard to come by (excellent), not even because in PoE the definition of "crafting" seems to have changed to "play the lottery" while I wasn't looking (I can enjoy a flutter as much as the next man) - but simply because the end-game content (maps and MF) is so severely weighted towards trading and party play that for a solo and/or SF player the ratio of mindless farming to challenging content is such that the by the time the next tiny reward intended to stimulate a positive response arrives, my neuroreceptors will have shrivelled up and left the room in disgust... As others have pointed out, there is little "thrill" in tiredly accumulating currency to finally "buy" an item, or in wasting hours (not playing the game) trying to sell a nice-but-unneeded item to someone else - and yet these shortcuts seem to be the principals that are being reinforced here. Skinner would not approve! ;) (And I have to be honest: even if I wished to trade... I spent a couple of hours watching the trade chat when first began playing to get a feel for "how stuff worked" and remember unchecking the box afterwards and thinking "Bloody hell,I am NEVER going back in there again..."). The only reason I support the SFL idea is because it may involve less GBH to the devs' brains than rethinking end-game balance successfully. Cut. PS Complete disclosure: I haven't read all 50 pages of this thread... Last edited by FeersumEndjinn#5147 on Aug 31, 2013, 6:26:55 PM

@Qarak, Vakirauta
When Stephen Colbert was killed by HYDRA's Project Insight in 2014, the comedy world lost a hero. Since his life model decoy isn't up to the task, please do not mistake my performance as political discussion. I'm just doing what Steve would have wanted. " They also said that loot options weren't going to happen. Okay, to be clear, for nearly 2 years they said over and over how FFA was critical to their vision of the game befitting the 'harsh world of wraeclast'. There is always hope. "the premier Action RPG for hardcore gamers."
