Our view on map drop rates

You're rolling the wrong mods for that map.

There is a trick currently. I've never had a problem with attaining high level maps.
I'm sure everyone would appreciate it if you would elaborate, since as it stands it just looks like you're someone that doesnt understand the nature of probability.

Just reached level 63 and i am far from going out of maps (10+ in stash).

Because i traded for them.

Did you try that BRavich?

Btw:

I'd like to see a re-implementation of the Chaos Maelstrom in a tweaked way. Endgame truly needs more variation.

And again i bring up some examples:

Median XL | Hell unleashed for Diablo 2 are great in the way their challenge system works.

GGG might merge random challenges with maps and the Maelstrom?! Please consider it at least ;)

Visuv, that proposition has been asked quite a few times, and no word from GGG about yay/nay, why/why not etc. I think it would be a great addition, as long as there was a distinct difference for why one would do MoC vs Maps.

BRavich, what you're asking for has been brought up over and over and answers have been given. In fact, there's responses in this thread that answer your question.

I'm not someone who doesn't understand probability, I'm someone who enjoys figuring out how to make probability my bitch (most of the time). Again, I've played every map. I was first in default (with Aethias) to do many, if not the majority, of high lvl maps after reset. Including both lvl 69 maps.

Certain mods are better for certain maps. I'm not going to elaborate. It's a lot of information, but most it just comes from experience.

Yeah you clearly have no idea how probability works.

Right. It's just me and many many many others that can get high lvl maps consistently while you cannot.

Probability would dictate that you would be able to, after enough effort, move up in maps, since everyone else is. Of course there's good runs and bad runs. That's probability. But to be someone who has never, ever, had a good after enough tries, makes me think you're doing something wrong. Something many people know not to do.

Why not share some of your secrets? I'll be honest and say that I never even played a map because I stopped playing at level 54 or something and now I'm just waiting for the OB to have a fresh start,.. but if you think there are some tricks I'd really appreciate hearing them before I come back here in february demanding better drop rates ;)

And tbh. your sentence " I'm someone who enjoys figuring out how to make probability my bitch" made me a little bit sceptical too. ;)

See, this is why I say you have no idea how probability works. You're basically saying the following:

"I have had success with this chance based system, and a nonspecific number of other people have also had success. People that do not have success must be doing something wrong"

That's not how probability works. At all. Period.

But you can tip probability in your favor. Think of card counting and black jack.

For example, once you get a lvl 63 map, do you alch and chaos it til it has nice drop mods?

Are you rolling the + maze mod on maps that allow it? Are you chaosing until you get both both + maze and + magic? Or the trifecta for some maps, maze, magic, pack size? Or even the best, for most maps, all of the above with a decent-high IIQ?
Now you're suggesting we rely on probability so that we have a smaller chance of getting screwed over by probability. I still dont think you understand the nature of probability.

I fail to see how this changes anything about the fact that some players will get maps and some players wont regardless of their actions. Tipping probability in your favor has nothing to do with the majority of complaints people have with the map system.
