Crafting? Don't be silly, just buy the item.

I mostly agree with OP. Crafting is useful sometimes, but is way too limited due to RNG now. Introducing eternals was a good step but they are insanely overpriced for a typical player (exalts are as well).

And there is no convenient way to trade either.

Hope buying items straight from forum shops will be implemented.

As for crafting, I wish there were less RNG involved. Like recipes which give 6 sockets on an item + 500 jewels, same with links/jewels, (several) exalt(s) let you choose exact prefix/suffix, orbs which only improve stats etc.

I'd prefer to try several builds and max them untill ladder resets (new leagues in poe), than to have only one semi-geared character and spend hours on trade chat and waiting shop owners get online, which is not fun at all.

I feel your pain OP... I once tried to "upgrade" my 5l6s chest on my fp and went through at least 500 fusing to thankfully get back to a 5l. Boy was I fucking pissed... I wasted tons of currency and also broke that character in one fell swoop.

It was a sobering experience to say the least, except now I'm not trading OR crafting so basically just sitting on currency which doesn't help the game economy at all.

Oh well
Buying items will ALWAYS be cheaper than crafting, unless youre trying to make an item that doesn't exist yet.

this should be obvious, and no, it's not a bad thing. Its impossible to have it any other way.
I never craft unless it's chromatics, leveling gear which I only spend 1 alc on, or 4l.

But this RNG is a very big problem, it's just too unpredictable and unrewarding. There should at least be some way to increase the odds of 5 and 6 links as you use more fuses, and higher chance of high numbers on items with the amount of chaos you use.

Trading in this game aggravates me more then dumping my currency at the item... something about 90% people being assholes when trading makes me aggravated.
I am quite new to this game, but i am not trading. No sir.

Your characters are 1000 times bettter than mine, i still can't do end game content, it's gonna take ages, it's retardedly wasteful, blah blah. I beleive what you say, but frankly, i don't (and won't) give a shit! :)

I simply don't want any shortcuts. All the games of this type i played i always took the path of less resistance, and in the end the ego boost turned into reduced interest in playing. Not this time.
If it takes me one year + to have a halfway decent character, then so be it. There's fun along the road, i will not rush in to destination.

Now, be kind and wish this noob enthusiast good luck.

solution = advertise items 2 times more expensive so when they offer half, you break even.

and that's why I don't even respond to trade chat.. because of behaviors like this... asking 6chaos for ring with 3 good mods... yeah ok.. i remember when I was playing HC I used to buy upgrades for 1 alch

and when I want to sell 8% spark they offer me an alch.. like wtf.. last guy that offered me alch for it I made him wait for me in a1n for 10min when I was farming docks

And i kept asking him what the heck is a1n lol....
I can't really add much that hasn't already been said, but I'll chime in to support the OP. The boiler plate "RNG is RNG" response is so tired. Everyone knows its RNG, I hope you enjoy it when you're playing the game all alone, right before the servers shut down.

Personally, I don't even try crafting,as its not even crafting its gambling, and I hate gambling. However, for every guy that vents here on the forum about the awful "crafting" system and quits, there are god knows how many others that just said fuck it and quit too out of anger and frustration. When you have a system that your game is so strongly coupled to, causing that much grief to your players, you're doing something wrong. GGG, ya better wake up and take notice, or you're gonna keep bleeding players.
