Give me a bigger skill bar please !! PLEASE

2 more slots would be awesome!
If Only they added 1 slot at least.
And yes we will be limited by number of sockets and number of possible linked ( maxed potential ) sockets.


We have already 8 slots.
1 slot for for "Move Only" 7/8 slots remaining
2-H weapon : 6 sockets ( 1 or 2 skills ) 5-6/8 slots remaining
Helm/ Gloves / boots : 4-linked Skill OR 2 cold snap-eleprof-incDUR OR Auras. 3x 1 skill slot OR 3X2x skills slot OR O slot ( because auras can be casted once and you recover your slot ), 0-6/8 slots remaining.
Chest( no bringer of rain here ) : 6 sockets; 1-2 skills 0-5 slots remaining.

At this moment, some builds would have 5 free slots others O slot.

Builds with 3 slots remaining :
1) a Totem
2) 1 curse
3) Enduring Cry/ immortal call ?

nice for you high amount of life/ES based builds.

Builds with 0 slot can add :

0) Nothing. 0 ! NADA !

Yes we could use Weapon swapping, but what about that complete Second waiting for the weapon to swap + The other second waiting for the skill cooldown ? ( not even talking about not sticking skills in the bar when swapping )

Instead of adding more slots, I would rather they "fix" how weapon swap works. Each weapon set should have it's own independent set of skills. Being able to weapon swap to a utility curse/skill and having where I want it, instead of defaulting to slots I assigned weapon/skill gems to, would be better implementation then what we have currently.
Lets say that you can run 8+ skills. You'd be taking support gem/aura space out of the sockets for them.
Primary single target skill.
Primary AoE skill.
1-2 curses.
1-2 buffs.
Even if we had a bigger skill bar most people would revert to using the above setup. But, if people want a bigger skill bar I don't see a problem with it. It'll be easier for me to activate all my auras.

tbh im all for this, but with all changes they are unable to invision what the outcome wil be, and some people wil find ways to abuse it.

I think a macro slot should be added for curses, ore like somebody else sugested, make the weapon swap function properly, this would allow 6 more utility slots(aldo i feel a macro would be better for ingame use instead of swapping spamming utility + swapping back)

Maybe u should send a PM to qarl (i think he is the head of balance issues etc, so this should fall under his departement) and come up with a reasoneble proposition to draw his attention.

When they added support for mouse buttons, I thought they were functionally making the skill bars larger. I was disappointed. I like the idea of more skill slots on the action bar. You are functionally limited to what skill you use by your available sockets. And we can customize just about everything about our characters except how many active skills we can use. Why punish people that would rather specialize in active skills rather than support gems in their links? It seems like a reasonable way to add diversity to the way people play their characters.

I can see trappers becoming stronger due to them using like 3 gems and buttons for the same skill, and cursers get a QoL improvement, but I dont see many other builds becoming absolutely stronger by allowing more active skill slots.

I'd opt for 1 more skill, because the first one of the active bar is always MOVE COMMAND, so it's basically unusable.

What if they just took a D2 approach to the skills and allowed you to bind slots and skills to the function keys?

Have three curses to throw? Put them all in the same slot and bind them to F1-3.
Have two different cold snaps to use? Bind them to F4-5.

In my mind, this would effectively increase the number of skill slots without cluttering up the screen.
