quitting cause of crafting
"trading is the most important aspect of the game"
i hate that they feel that way. I'd much rather a game that didnt FORCE me to trade. How is this better than D3 having an auction house? They contradict themselves. They say they dont want people to depend on an auction house for gear, yet they make you depend on trading. The auction house wasnt bad in itself, it was the fact that gameplay was geared towards forcing players to use it. PoE is no better in that regard....they may as well implement an auction house. |

I understand. I gave up on fusing for anything more then 4 link a long time ago. Sorry for the jerks. Take care :)

Someday all you folks are going to realize that GGG simply doesn't care who quits.
As for crafting, it is a very simple fix while making the rng odds not so completely ridiculous. Once again GGG simply doesn't care. As to the simple fix I won't bother restating it again. GGG simply doesn't care. |

Shame, I had a 6S5L Chest long time ago, once I decided I will 6L it. Did it in 122 Fusings and was pretty sad I lost so many orbs.Did it just because no one told me it was that hard to do it and should take thousands of fusings :)

Dont craft unless you have hundrets of stash tabs of orbs that you dont care about. Dont sell stuff for orbs to craft something, unless its an endgame item already, but then again, if its a unique like shavvs/lioneyes - sell the craftable bow throw in exalts and buy it linked :P And dont call the system crafting, call it gambling, youll be healthier and it is not gonna make you sick/wanna ragequit the game. I have a chest with 6S that i would like to 5L(not even gonna dream about 6L), so every now and then, if i get very lucky to get a couple of fusing in my play time from 1 day, i throw 1 or 2 on the chest. I would need to be INSANE to sell stuff, and spend all orbs to craft it and end up with a 0L ^^

You misunderstand, GGG wants it to be a long term goal, and no Ogzwald, a reset isn't needed nor would it ever happen. Tunis is exactly what new ladders are for.

" same as me, same as me. I wonder though if a way to choose if you want to keep the next roll or the previous won't at least reduce this frustration. I think it would for me at least. Knowing that if you have a 4L , with the stats you want , you can throw lets say 100 fusings and everytime you apply 'em you choose to confirm (or apply with a shortcut to bypass confirmation) the new roll (better or worse ) and if it ends up a 3L or worst you can choose to keep your original item. That at least can feel "progression" to me in the end , or a chance for progress instead of a chance to "regress" :) Last edited by fraz81#7436 on May 15, 2013, 6:51:02 PM

I've stopped tried to even 4L items the day I understood it cost on average 20 fusings, I could buy extremly good piece of gear at that price.
I'm convinced the issue come from the absurdly high drop rate of rare items, if the chance of getting a rare item was about the same as getting an alchemy, crafting would become relevant. Now as it is, from my experience, you loot about (with a little IIR ) 20 rares for each alchemy looted, if you actually use it each time you found one, you will have 21 rares, so it will increase by 5% your chance of getting a good item... so it is almost useless. But the thing is, it's still a hard thing to get (as hard as getting 20 rares), and because of that, if we see this orb as a currency item for trade and not a crafting material, its value is about the same as 20 rares, instead of one rare if you actually used it. So this orb has 20 time more value if you trade it than if you use it, hence why the crafting system seems ridiculous, and orbs just feel like gold. If GGG would actually reduce the chance of getting a rare by 20, crafting would become relevant. We can observe this phenomenon with the map system, there isn't hundreds of billions of rare maps dropping each seconds unlike other rares items, and because of that using an orb on a map has actually more value than trading it, and this is why it's the only type of item that players are actually crafting. " They are self made frustrations. It's no secret how unlikely it is to get a 6 link. It's not secret that some people have gone through 3000+ fusings on an item without getting a 6 link. And yet some people still going in thinking, "If I turn all my wealth into a couple hundred fusing I should get my 6 link" .... "RAAAGGEEEEE" If you cannot deal with the possibility of losing everything you put into the attempt to 6 link, then don't even start the process. It's as simple as that. |
