You call it "Skill" aka talent but you only show time investment.

Everyone can watch Kripp's stream yet very few manage to beat him in the several solo races. They can copy his exact build and compete with him when he is obviously very tired(since he tried participating in many races at the end) yet they still lose.

Call it what you want... ability to adapt, skill, knowledge of game mechanics, experience.. Kripp has more of it than his competition.

nice analysis!
Then consider Hardware and internet connection.

Somebody with bad hardware without SSD will lose 4-5 seconds in loading screens each area.

Time investments shows how you have to crowd mobs and how maps look like.
You already lose 3-4 minutes if you kill packs of 3-4.
Especially maplayouts costs tons of time. After some CB patch the passage layout changed and since that patch I have terrible passage times.

Also consider the playerbase is different. CB races were far more competive.
The timeinvestment reward balance isn't appealing.

Not to mention there are 6 classes. There aren't any class races yet.

You think Kripparian can adapt fastly and copy his build to a witch?

He will see that it won't work that way the first turbo race or during Vaal.

Everything else is just fanboytalk.

I have a job and a girlfriend too, don't make excuses :P.

I'm no making excuses, just stating the reasons why i gave up in advance on racing :)

Went into two races so far i think, but then someone has to cook dinner (me :p)

All power to those who do race though, i like being able to watch a stream or youtube vid from work occasionally ^^

If you had played in three one-hour races, and finished first in two of them, you would have made my top 20 ranking. I'm not saying that's easy; actually, the whole point is that would be exceedingly difficult. What I am saying is that time commitment isn't that big of a factor in proper evaluation.

As per your last comment, this is why, among others, I suggested class specific races.

As per your last comment, this is why, among others, I suggested class specific races.

1. I was tracking reward points.
How Reward Points were Handed Out
Overall first place: 3 points.

Up to 7 points based on ending character level; this is different for one/two/three-hour races.

1st within your class: 10 points.
2nd within your class: 6 points.
3rd within your class: 5 points.
4th within your class: 4 points.
5th within your class: 3 points.
6th-10th within your class: 2 points.
11th-20th within your class: 1 point.

There were also points for completing certain objectives first. No data was kept on this; therefore, I didn't count it.
Out of a possible 20 points, 10 of those were specific to the class you were running. This is how Powster got so many points from solo events -- by being the best witch racer, despite not being close to the best overall racer.

The point is, running class-specific races isn't necessary. Each of these events countained class-specific races within it.

2. I'm not a Kripp fanboy. I am, however, a solo racing fanboy. In that context, this is all fanboytalk. The issue I have is that you assume I am biased for or against particular racers. I'm not.

Nice analysis though I'm surprised both in that I have so many more attempts than others and that apparently I had a higher points per race average in party races.
And as it is such so also as such is it unto you

I actually had you at 20th for a while; Capper barely made it. Your solo point total was still absolutely impressive, even as a "garbage stat" it was almost enough. Too bad I didn't do it to 25th. :)

Aw thanks. Capper's definitely better than me, you made the right choice.
