Scrotie's Top 20 Most Skilled Players of Season 1

I only died 48 times leveling my character to level 70. Why am I not at the top of that list?!
Former player moderator, valued poster, and early-adopter responsible for The Blood Dance.

GGG has forgotten where they came from. As a result, I no longer support the deceitful, corporate Tencent slave sellouts running this game.
A fun read!

P.S. - Scrotie, are you Scroto-T-Baggins? Played together in Korean TERA?

I'm surprised that as a self-admitted racing fanboy, you use overall top position as a metric for comparison. How would that statistic be useful, if in a 3hr, when the top templar/duelist/marauder are farming in docks, the top witch is just starting progression on vaal?

Although the lack of first-place finishes is a bit disconcerting

What's disconcerting is not listing powster's 22 witch first places and alkaizer's 23 marauder first places, unfortunately buried within your "Raw Statistical Data" column.

Still an enjoyable read, thanks.

Not to mention there are 6 classes. There aren't any class races yet.

You think Kripparian can adapt fastly and copy his build to a witch?

He will see that it won't work that way the first turbo race or during Vaal.

Everything else is just fanboytalk.

As per your last comment, this is why, among others, I suggested class specific races.

1. I was tracking reward points.
How Reward Points were Handed Out
Overall first place: 3 points.

Up to 7 points based on ending character level; this is different for one/two/three-hour races.

1st within your class: 10 points.
2nd within your class: 6 points.
3rd within your class: 5 points.
4th within your class: 4 points.
5th within your class: 3 points.
6th-10th within your class: 2 points.
11th-20th within your class: 1 point.

There were also points for completing certain objectives first. No data was kept on this; therefore, I didn't count it.
Out of a possible 20 points, 10 of those were specific to the class you were running. This is how Powster got so many points from solo events -- by being the best witch racer, despite not being close to the best overall racer.

The point is, running class-specific races isn't necessary. Each of these events countained class-specific races within it.

2. I'm not a Kripp fanboy. I am, however, a solo racing fanboy. In that context, this is all fanboytalk. The issue I have is that you assume I am biased for or against particular racers. I'm not.

That wasn't my point. I was saying, I would love to see how everyone does when taken out of their comfort zone. Many players master one class, which is smart, however take that class away from them, how do they do?

That actually would be pretty interesting, because a lot of the builds would be destroyed; witches often go shadow-Hillock to get FT, Kripp's build is duelist-Hillock for Cleave, etc.
When Stephen Colbert was killed by HYDRA's Project Insight in 2014, the comedy world lost a hero. Since his life model decoy isn't up to the task, please do not mistake my performance as political discussion. I'm just doing what Steve would have wanted.
This is outrageous, everyone knows CRONK is the number one player!
I am the only person left in gaming that remembers a time when games were for playing, not watching and idolizing other people playing the game.

Please guys stop the scrub talk... A win is a win... you can say whatever you want but a good player will use every thing he can to win... playing a slower class don't make you best at races.

Play to Win do your best that's the essence of victory.

Good read about Play to win here.

With the recent spate of rather...hefty posts, Scrotes, I think it might be you who needs the stream...

This thread is like the PoE equivalent of a sports commentary show, and for some inexplicable reason, some people can't get enough of those.

Okay, not so inexplicable -- but still. That's what it is.

Indeed! I found it entertaining specifically because it put a face to the name of players I don't know anyway. But interesting regardless because it builds community. You'd never see stuff like this in D3, for example. It reminds me almost of some of the EVE forum posts in years past that I enjoyed reading about rivalries and wars between factions in low sec, etc.
