Our feelings about Beta Invite complaints

Don't worry! We've turned down literally two hundred requests for paid beta keys so far this week. Someone offered to send 15 pizzas to our office today for a Beta key. We declined.

:D great idea. How could you decline that?

I am now official voting to reward this guy with a beta key!

Be glad that we do not know each other in person because believe me... if i was standing there right next to you when you received that offer the word decline would of never passed your lips by the time i grabbed ahold of you and toss you half way across the room and cemented that deal!

None shall stand in the path of this 330 pound behemoth and his meal! :D

Thanks for the update Chris, but I feel that this will not have any long lasting effect, the crying and whining will return sooner or later . IMO you need some active moderators in these forums to clean it up a bit (not necessarily banning people, but locking useless/whiny topics etc)
People need to relax! Give Chris a break! If you get in later, that means that much more content in the game and more testing to do and more feedback to give.

RELAX!
Thanks for the info, Chris.

This will definitely go a long way to cool off some of those who are getting frustrated by being unable to play.
Dear Mr. Chris,

I have to say I am a bit disappointed about some of your posts. The system you chose for giving out closed Beta keys is awful. As an older player I must say I haven't seen a perfect system cause imo it does not exist.

You have chosen a different path. Lots of threads people post on the forum is about Beta keys and the frustrations they encounter for not being selected for a key on your private "lottery" game. Your answers to some individuals are because of that a bit odd. A few of them are listed in this thread, some of them are located elsewhere. I am curious to get your answer as a leading game designer an producer: What did you expect?."

I am not trying to be insulting but some of the comments are better to be kept for one's self and not be so snooty to think that things that do happen would not.

As a leading game designer you certainly had a saying in how the keys are being distributed. The system could be, let us say, a closed form from the beginning, to prevent things like this from happening. So all the PM's, pizzas and malaise is kinda your fault directly.

Best regards
To be totally honest, reguarding the first post. I think the beta invite timer is a great way of distributing keys randomly.
I imagine people would be more annoyed, if it was said that for example:

"Keys would be given to the first 500 people who sign up for the beta".

Having a timer for those that signed up months back and those hand-picked by helping the community, and also having a timer for random accounts, is the best system Ive come across for the fair distribution of keys. And just for the fact that more than double the amount of accounts have been accepted already, is something people can't really, get frustrated about.

Anyway I kind of enjoy the tension of waiting for my account name to pop up on the front-page. (If Ever) :)

Keep it up ~GGG~. Grand Job.

Lol, Chris is cooling down the angry mob of unlucky people who didnt get the key, it feels like president talkin to people, while they go like "WE NEED MORE MONEY, WE DONT HAVE ANYTHING TO EAT! YE! LOWER TAXES! PEOPLE POWER!" XD...

Funny show, seriously :D

By the way, they added Big-Bang on Europe Maple Story ^-^
Hello.

Well, i don't know why the people are angry.
The closed beta not is a phase where you can take your character and play as a normal game. It's a test phase where you must analyze all the facts of the game and also must explain where you see the weak points or strong points.
In this phase you'll must try all classes with all skill as possible, knowing that your advance will not saved when the game be completed, and that forces you to start from 0 again.
Too many people are angry because they don't have a key... and?, why they must have a key?, why some people are more valid than another?, for the time they was registered?, can't understand it. When you buy a ticket for the lottery of 25 december on july, you have the same possibilities and rights than another people that buy a ticket the same 25 of december, isn't it?.
I know some people from another forum and two of them have a beta key. One of the guys registered on 11 of august of 2011. I'm sure that the people don't understand that this guy have a key and other guy registered on november of 2010 not, but this guy start to comment of this game over september of 2010 then, why he can't have a key if he know more about this game that much others here?.
Don't worry if you don't play the closed beta phase, wait to open beta to play for fun and don't be angry anymore... be water my friend! xD

Regards.
