Our feelings about Beta Invite complaints

I was curious as to how many users the site had. Neat.

For me it comes down to the fact that no matter how you run your beta, you will get flak for it. Certain aspects also have their pros and cons. Having the public timer is both exciting to the user, and risky for many of the reasons already found in the angry posts.

While I had already seen press building well for the game in many previous months, this looks like it will find most of it's success through word of mouth. The fact that I see so many posts a day from people saying a friend (who has not even played the game themselves)sent them here and they find themselves glowing with excitement is a testament to the presentation of the product.

Once again you run into a pro and con situation. Passionate people can shift emotionally in short periods of time, and much like the excited and loving passion, the angry and outraged passion will be beamed directly into the faces of the game makers/overseers.

And I know passionate people well. Good luck to anyone trying to survive a few of my exes.

The random key drops on FB/Twitter/Reddit are evil, mainly because I then spend an hour refreshing the page like mad, lol. When you're making Path of Exile 2: Electric Boogaloo, please explain the whole veteran thing so redditors like me can get in on some of that sweet veteran action. Thanks! <3

I just think that maybe if you guys let us know a time frame in which you are giving out guys on Twitter and FB (which hasn't seen any keys yet??), then we don't have to sit here all day refreshing the pages.

I mean the idea is for publicity, but I don't see the benefit in having your community sit there and hit F5 all day. It makes the let-down that much worse when you worked that hard to get a key. At least when people know an event is coming up, they don't have to feel glued to their computer for a chance to win.

I really like the idea of the twitter and FB give aways with the picture of the keys, but I can't be refreshing twitter or FB all day every day like this :(
fighting trolls and kids :) on the internet is gonna be a hard and long effort chris.
Chris, please make more counters soon :)

Was just about to post this

Although i still disagree with the whole who can paste a key in first should get a position in beta, still gives a better time frame especially for people waiting in irc for countless hours lol
No, i have been here for a long time just forgot my old username..
Well basicly the pre-beta is called 'The Waiting Game'.

So join us on #PathOfExile while we play this.

Nothing seems to boost the odds, especially not by directly annoying admins so...

Cu there <3

I personally think that you GGG folks should think more about yourselves. As you did arleady mention, it's not too clever to just invite people by the hundreds, and I think that the current approach is pretty much the perfect one. Sure, it saddens me to not have a key, but the game will probably come out eventually, so not all hope is lost.
Thanks for explaining, Chris.
