Our feelings about Beta Invite complaints

I've read several posts that have some pretty negative comments about how we're handling the Closed Beta invite process.

For what it's worth, 'anonymity' of the sort offered by the Internet™ usually produces the observable effect of a vocal minority complaining the most. Simply, those who are patient are not going to make posts complaining about key distribution methodologies. Stated differently, you're mostly going to read complaints and negativity.

Closed betas are an interesting animal. Some people tend towards wanting a beta key just to make the claim that he or she had access before the general public. The game itself doesn't matter; these people are playing a different game, one where getting into a beta is 'winning'.

But you also have the obvious fact that many, many people are salivating over the possibility of FINALLY playing an action RPG with balls.

With these points, one can deduce a very simple concept: people are excited about playing your game.

So that's nice. Frankly, I think you guys are doing fine.

I would like to offer you an idea that I'm not sure many people have caught. The vast majority of people who are upset that they haven't received a beta key implicitly hold the idea that they actually have a chance of getting into the beta.

Unlike, say, Diablo 3.

Whatever you have done, individuals feel as though they have a chance to get into the beta. This is a good thing. This suggests a strong community.

You have to take the good with the bad. And you guys seem to be doing just fine with that, anyways.

Best of luck.
The more keys the better :)

(Still patiently waiting fora key :P)
1200 people in beta, 58000 signed up for beta? 57000 waiting for invite.

1:57000 chance to get key from random timer

c´mon
u totaly ruined my day :(
People really need to relax. They want to give us a game for free. So what if you can't play it as soon as you like. It's going to be free. So what if some people who don't 'deserve' a key got one. Think about it, sometimes in life that happens. There are people who have money that don't deserve it. There are people who have power and status who don't deserve it. There are people whose girlfriends look better than yours and don't deserve it (I know we're not all loner, video game nerds like I am here). Stop worrying about what other people have and you don't and see how much happier you are. Just be patient and the game will be here soon enough. Imagine that it will bug-free and play like a dream. Imagine just how much fun it will be then.
Lastly, be honest with yourselves; If you don't plan on being an active tester and helping make the game better don't waste a key. I'm not a very nit-picky person so I don't believe I would be a good tester, but damn I want to play this game. The only game that has me as stoked is Grim Dawn. I have other games to play so I'll wait. If I get a key, fine. If I don't fine. It's their game and they make the rules. Be thankful they want to give us what is looking like a amazing game for free.
Arguing on the Internet: What's the point when you can't punch them in the face when they really piss you off?
If I keep telling myself patience is a virtue then I should get one in no time... XD. But really, I don't mind the timer but at the same time I hate checking the time. lol
Chris posts about issues some people have problems with. Even if i don;t agree with 99% of the reasons for complaints, this post doesn;t need a bunch of ass kissers flooding this thread in hopes of getting a key. No one is perfect. Even dev's make mistakes, let them get some real feed back.
Really you won't be able to please everyone, no matter what you do.

It's your game and you have the right to deal with key distribution however you see fit and people should just learn to deal with it.
