major end game design flaw (map drop rates / currency dump)

Surely the Eternal Lab & map system is just a placeholder for now? surely?!

I have been on about endgame for months, I feel that is the most under developed & unpolished part of the game & yet GGG have literally ignored endgame for months. The only thing they have done is tweak chisel drop rates.

Endgame is where everyone ends up & it needs to be a quality experience like the rest of the game.

I urge GGG to dedicate some of the team to really putting some effort into developing endgame as it's where most of us are playing.

The time is now!

Diamond... professional... Surely you are the one who is not right in the head. You shouldn't be having these expectations at all. View everyone as an equal and discuss as adults. Throwing around insults is not the way to go about telling someone you disagree with them.

Isn't high end content *meant* to be a currency sink so as to avoid hyperinflation as the bulk of the player base moves there? If it isn't, the rich will get richer and the poor get poorer (like real life) and fairly quickly the disparity in wealth between new and seasoned players will be exponentially large.

Gameplay should not be massively sacrificed in order to maintain some video game distribution of orbs or to prevent "inflation" in this fake economy. When the "economy" lol it makes me laugh whenever I say economy about a video game, takes precedent over actual gameplay then the game has gone to crap.

edit and also: Ever wonder how stupidly expensive it is to do high lvl maps solo? OP is complaining about spending so much currency and he is doing it with a full team/group. Doing high level maps solo is stupidly painful for how much currency you blow. I do not want to spam trade for hours every other day just so I can run some dungeons solo.

I disagree. The map system is genius, and the reason for 70+ maps being rare makes sense. If you're complaining about even getting started with maps, you either have no idea what you're doing or have the worst luck in the world.

I'd say you need 4-5 66's, and then you should be self sufficient.

I would like to see more kinds of endgame though, something between 62-63 areas and maps, as well as some side progression to maps.

Being that max lv is 100, there is bound to be something more/ something else since maps stop in the 70s.

that is what i think. this game is in beta. they are not even done adding content. some of you are being civilized and constructive, but some of you are freaking out....over a game that is not even completed yet....this is not some big budget video game company, this is some guys making a free game. just chill out.

i have not even gotten high enough level to use or find a map, but i like the sounds of it. it is an interesting concept to me that has great potential. you don't just run the same area over and over and over and over when you reach a certain level, and the challenges in the areas change dramatically depending upon the roll. you have something to spend your currency on that is optional, and makes it more interesting, plus you don't just end up saving tons of currency, for what? at least you don't run the same bland identical area, and check the auction house for gears, and that is all end game is.

i said this earlier, but if there is an issue with drop rates or something, i am certain they will address it. if not, hopefully they have the cojones to say sorry, too bad, game working as we intended. far more people will get bored and quit if they make drop rates too high, because you end up getting everything you want too quickly. i like to play rpg's for more than a month before i have every good piece of gear i want, so do the vast majority i think

I gave up on maps almost quit because of the system, they just don't seem rewarding enough for what you pour into them. Instead I'll just keep making new characters level them to like 70-75 and hoard all the currency I get until they release the rest of Act 3 and Act 4+.
The map system is great. The currency sink it creates is what's saving us from an inevitable huge inflation. The only problem is that harder maps aren't rewarding enough. As it's been already said, the mods should stack differently, like multiplicatively. Right now there is an horrible diminishing return, I'm not even sure it's really worth it to chaos/exalt maps so much.

You guys should realize that it's not because there's no real level cap that you should keep leveling forever. The game is designed so that you're encouraged to reroll, so you should do that instead.

I started reading on page one and couldn't help but start laughing, I love it. I had to immediately respond to the original poster...

Imagine for a second they change maps because of your nonsensical ravings and lack of understanding of the system. Now what do they do to the people who actually understand it, have the currency to use the system effectively and profit daily from it?!?!?! You just made the game easier for them, because you suck and can't help but threaten to leave until its changed...

You have made my day brighter, with the power of laughter... now GTFO because no one is going to miss you... well, maybe your map running friends, but they probably just use you to roll all of your currency on the bad map drops, secretly laughing at your failure...

i am curious, after reading these posts and whatnot, it seems to me like maybe the drop rates decline after you reach a certain level above the map level....i.e. do drop rates diminish for a level 80 running a level 72 map?
