2.1 Talisman League Guide for Cheap Permacurse Dual RF Totems for Hardcore/Softcore -Atziri Viable!

After looking at this build it's really got me interested and I want to try it out, but I haven't played in a long time so I'm not really sure what to do about a lot of stuff lol. Also I had a few questions about possible gear: 1, Could you use a doryan's belt for fire leech 2, could you use consuming dark/infernal mantle for chaos dmg 3, is this viable with only running 1 curse and using MoM AA with a large mana pool for survivability?

Edit: Also what about taking enough reduced aura cost to support 3 curses via blasphemy and purity of fire?
Also putting curses in a chalice of horrors shield for more effectiveness?

1. Leech works with hits
2. DoT cannot be converted
3. There are no enough Int and mana passives taken in the tree, so I don't think that MoM is useful. Don't forget that you are reserving mana for PoF aura - your totems works longer with it and you can look for chaos resistance (very dangerous) and life on gear instead of fire res.
Can you update ur guide with gear/current gear?
If I drop Vulnerability for some other defensive curse do I lose too much dps?

And 2nd question. Iron Will not work on spell totem? With that build we have pretty nice amount of strenght :)

Sorry lads been away for christmas and all that jazz so haven't had time to fully answer the post so I'll try do that now for you all :)

From the top ^^

Farm4Fun
Rapid Decay works with RFTotems 100% confirmed, it may or may not be a bug but until we hear anything about it treat it as a great damage boost.

idarius
You will be squishy compared to what you expect as your not ment to be getting hit all that often, the focus is not on survivng lots of hits but about not needing to get hit in the first place because your totems will be in the middle of mobs not yourself :)

Just focus on getting a little bit more life on your gear is all I would say and the last few points between 75-85ish really bump up your total HP as its all invested into life%

Drkevlar
Hey kev :P
I have never used CoH-Aby cry setup so cant comment on it personally as to its effectiveness sorry, I will say though that Enfeeble-blasphemy is amazingly better then Artic Armour. Not only does it work on everything but it does not require you to be stationary when the monster starts its attack, for 10% extra mana reserved it is 100% worth it imo :)

bloorocksDotD
Totems cannot leech life because they never actually hit anything so it wont work sadly (same with trying to use trolltimber unique shield)
Taking reduced mana reservation and using 3curse/PoF is totally viable way of running this build if you wanted to invest in that. To get it to work however you need another 16% reduced mana reserved. You can get 8% from an Alpha's Howl 2% from Conqueror's Efficiency and then need to find another 6% from somewhere on the tree or run 1 aura off of HP using a Prism Guardian. I dont recommend doing it though because of the investment required isnt really worth the gain when you can run 2 curses +PoF and self cast a 3rd curse when needed.

Chalice of Horrors is great for self casted curses but because curses supported by blasphemy have 100% uptime the increased duration is wasted so all your really getting is +1 level for 2 curses which is meh on a crappy shield for end game really.

Sure here is my current gear, hoping to go do an Atziri video by next weekend with level 21 ST

Unk_Particle
Iron will will not work because it increases spell damage, modifiers to spell damage do not effect RF's damage.
And yes I do it all the time for crappy map mobs like +extra damage cursed with vuln etc, I'll drop vuln and run enfeeble+flammability, or if im really scared ill run enfeeble+temp chains, makes it a little bit slower but honestly not a huge ammount/price to pay for staying alive.

Basically by managing your curses it allows you to solo harder or rippy maps without needing a dedicated supporter+curser that alot of map groups use/need.

(I'm in NZ so finding other people playing in maps on same server is few and very fucking far between)
To author:

Thanks for respond. So basicly You aim for Full amrour gear, shield, and doryani...

Can You give me a suggestion of weapon to use? Like, In my opinion it hsould be sceptre with %eledmg base, to use leapslam, but its only my guess....

I like your guide, Im doing my HC char to try it out.

Wont full armour shield be better?

Also, why do u run so much BM? And what do u think about that deodre helmet?

@Thraxeus:

I just hit lvl 79 with this build. Leveling until I've had was not really a pleasure, but afer increased aoe worth the effort. :)

Did you consider using fire penetration? I think with this gem, even curse-immune areas/maps might be possible.

Just curious: do you keep your RF gem at lvl 5?

PS: How can I link my gear here in the forum?

Actually I dont so much as aim for full armour it is literally whatever piece gives me the stats I am needing at the time (e.g what resists and life) the base type is largely irrelevant. Boots are ES for the BBBG roll being easier to get for blasphemy.

Reason I am using a shield and not a Brightbeak is actually because my gear is not good enough to drop the resists and life on it yet :(

And for sure a scepter with %fire damage will work fine if you dont want to use a lavianga's for the increased area of effect.

Yea before you get 24/38 its a bit of a struggle isnt it lol.

No fire penetration will not work because RF is a degeneration effect not a hit. This means it will never get the benefit of fire penetration which requires a hit to work.

I keep my RF gem at the lowest level all those levels are actually accidentally hitting it while in the inventory screen XD levels on RF mean nothing for its damage it only boosts the damage buff you get when casting other spells (the More damage multiplier)

Hope this helps lads.

Thraxeus.

P.S. log in, click on your character, then click on the piece of gear you want to show up, do that for all your gear/flasks then it will show you a whole bunch of location positions in your forum post, hit preview and you should see all your items :)
Hi, i've been using this guide from the start, and its a blast. However I'm still not sure what armor I should be using, so far I've been using Soul Mantle, however i dunno which is best.
-Soul mantle
-Lightning coil
-Carcass Jack
Its kinda annoying that i'm cursed 24/7 and tbh, with a doryani the dmg is fine. Is the defense of Lightning Coil necessary for higher maps? Cause i'm seeing you running LC
Please some advice.

Thx for the guide !

So Soul Mantle is best if you want supermaxdamage and is totally a viable option if your using this in SC. I was using a carcass jack originally for the build because of the increased AoE and allround good stats it provides. I finally grabbed a LC after getting wrecked in half a second doing a double mine inc damage map >.> (its highlighted on twitch if you want to see it lol)

So I do recommend using a LC if you want to push harder maps, its not needed by any stretch and T8/9 maps are easily doable without a LC. But if you want to just alch a map and go for it or do higher maps then yea I would suggest investing into a LC XD

Thraxeus.
