2.1 Talisman League Guide for Cheap Permacurse Dual RF Totems for Hardcore/Softcore -Atziri Viable!
Hi guys I have been trying to make this build work since Spelltotem was introduced. After 5-6 chars and around 500 regrets I can tell you this:
Until 2.0 the build was crap With 2.0(jewels) it was decent but not great. With 2.1 it might be 1 of the strongest builds out there. This is by no way a critisim to the OP, But: 1. Shadow is the start you want to go. You got 76% flat dps for just 6 points. With Templar u get either 26% or a little Mana/life. Scion as the OP posted gets only a jewel slot. You also get a acess to one of the best life clusters as shadow and 47% from the DamageOverTime nodes for just 3 points 2. Dont go dual totem! If u want u can take a soul mantle for 2 totems but dont spec into it. Why? In contrast to any other (spell)totem build the dps dont stack. I use shock nova as another 6link(will get into that later). Whats the difference: 1. You Shock obviously: +50% 2. Ele Equilibrium is triggerd: +50% 3. Frenzy Charges either form the Boots or a 2% liferegen Talisman + bloodrage: +20% So your single totem build does a 120% more dps then the dual +the dps shock nova does and +on hit effects/leech etc. 3. Curse setup This might cost u 2-4 ex(dont pay more u can craft them for 1.5). Asenath's Gentle Touch corrupted with ele weakness. Then u use the standart Hot+CurseOnHit+Flamebility+vulnerability(which triggers because u dont go dual Totems). The Temporals prevent the mobs from leaving the RF area of your totem. 4.Gear A 6link Staff with 1+ to Gems and crafted fire dps mod. Then throw a few alts at it to get resis/mana whatever u want. Nothing pushes your dps like another gemlvl. This is even cheaper then an uncorrupted tabula. Carcess for chest(or a Belly if u play HC) here we get the second 6link 5.Defence I got 170% life at lvl 90(over 200 at a 100). This build dosent profit much from Auras so dont(if u have an Alphas with a lvl 3 enlighten go AA). What do we do with builds that dont profit from Auras, we go MoM. As a rule of thumb u have to have 3times more life then mana easily done with a 170% life. Your life and mana is the same, you should end up with 1.2k-1.5k mana in this build, it will also allow you to spam skills like crazy. Just take 1-2 Hybrid flask(we have some mana regen on the tree) might want to take max clarity if u want. If u feel squishy just throw a ll or ml in the nova My Tree at lvl 94(6 jwe slots). You can throw out 10+ points of dps nodes until u get there: https://www.pathofexile.com/passive-skill-tree/AAAAAwYARXyXl_v1tDjlGYw2VUtQQmHiUzUmlZMnFr--imwLtNGhLyL0yAxtGXaCl_QI9FJTwFSXlT1fakNMs9Af7-s7DREPrJg6WPfX8WxVxpuhNtiD249GGGpJG6cIHRRR-zlSKo3r7vrSEmnNFlgH7FWa4IUyHNxmnhZvFxwfGEWduJOPGnIPWOXjanF5U1Io-pRvcYXDE5itZlR65lorhXtj_ew4RteCmzrYmjsnL5_f4XOQVe98PAWiABo48B8Es2jyr2wLYcauPC0QzINfg8wrtrc-jEb-CviT8kXYvTrhNZKmV_6PTeM= |

Well, the big let down for me was that overlapping RF areas do not add to each other. That seems really odd mechanically, and if it were not the case this build would be very nice. I mean, with two totems you are effectively doubling dps by doubling damage area, but that's only true if you have and can keep mobs in both areas, which is difficult at best. Most of the time I am casting one totem and then waiting a second and casting another at the edge of the RF ring so I can move on down the map. Or throwing a totem at a choke point and another just beyond it.
I've added in CwDT links and vaal LT as well as now enduring cry per the great suggestions. Dropping a totem, enduring cry, and throwing out Vaal lightning trap already is, skill wise, challenging for me to be doing all that every second. Adding in a third, manual, curse would probably be too much as I have already died several times in map just because I am trying to do too much LOL. Maybe I could add it to the CwDT setup? I think I am going to forgo the traps and enduring cry unless I'm at a boss or something, its too much for my slow brain to handle evidently. EC is nice that it draws things into your RF if you are in it, but then things beat the crap outta me. hehe Adding to all that by adding in Shock Nova might give me an anurism. lol |

@PoEGrinder7 I plugged in the values from your build into my spreadsheet for calculating RF totem dps and it comes out in the ballpark of 200k dps just from the totem; if you linked your items I could make it more precise. How much dps does the shock nova do in your setup? It's really hard to compare your build without seeing how it plays in any case. It's certainly more expensive.
@Shinare I use faster casting for the traps and manual curse, and the traps are pointless against anything but bosses anyway, because things die before the trap can even activate. It kind of sounds like you're lacking in dps, especially for SD Last edited by slikts#0909 on Jan 20, 2016, 1:52:42 PM

Hi 200k totem sounds right, as for the shock nova maybe 50k. You can kill trash, bosses high hp elites you use the totem. I have only a 2.0 version around for this build. But then u got a better skilltree+Rapid decay. Sry I have no "hard facts" for u ask me in 3 days, as I said it is an ongoing hobby of mine.
It's certainly more expensive. Nope the 4curse is just for max dps, even a 2curse setup does 150k dps. You can play with a 6link lvl 50 staff(20c) and a 4 link for the nova without losing any totem dps. |

Buying a 5 link tonight, should help with the dps and hopefully armor.

Purchased this (white and alc'ed it):
for 1c last night. I am color blind and thought rapid decay was red, so I bought a 2B3R and when I realized it was green 1)I couldn't use it because my dex was 31, and 2) I had to recolor the armor and spent about 2x the cost of the armor in chromes to do so, and 3) I had to respec a skill point into the only nearby +30 dex node. I am not sure I see any benefit from rapid decay. I will just trust you know what you are talking about, and start trying to find +DEX equipment so I can level it up. :) Only throwing Vaal LT for yellows and bosses, and not worrying about EC, for me, has made it easier to play. |

Any thought about doing a Marauder version now? With the Chieftain specialization, that seems like a no-brainer.
